My son has his last cub scout den meeting tonight. I'm sad :( only thing left in cubs is the arrow of light and then the blue and gold. can't believe it's been 5 years.

I think we all like them, but familiarity breeds contempt and snotty noses

Yeah, doesn't mean there weren't times I wanted to throw them out a window, but always liked them, and even more so now that they're out of the house.

Well, except that one, but no one likes her.

I didn't like them very much when we first brought them home from the hospital and they were just these annoying, demanding, strangers that I had to take care of 24/7.

I like them fine now that they have personalities, senses of humor, and can do things (my daughter and I road tripped to the Phillies at Braves game and my son and I just spent 3 days in Myrtle Beach). Of course, as with any housemate situation, everyone gets on everyone's nerves at different points.

Were the parents mad at you for telling them to get off your lawn?

No, but the kids were!

A kid was semi-seriously injured with a rock. Someone posted a video of the offender and his friends leaving the scene. People identified the group and then we're "attacked" by the guardians of them. Same kid has scared the younger kids with his real-looking-enough air pistol and had hit houses while destroying stuff with the bb gun in the empty lots.

At my house I only take issue with one neighbor who doesn't supervise their 5 & 9 year old appropriately.

Shoot back. You will be the good guy.

Roughly 4 times a day, I get an email from Brickfest Live (a LEGO convention held at the Oaks warehouse thing). Here's some examples:

Anyway, of course we are going, and of course they don't sell out, and of course there is a Groupon.

I was about to buy tickets after dinner tonight when I decided to check the mail.

Two free tickets to Brickfest Live.

My wife likes going with Spanish middle names for our kids, to honor her latino heritage. We've got one more kid on the way (we're a few weeks away), and I've been pushing for a middle name of Peligro. Not sure I'm going to win...
