Spring break LEGOLAND mom game so strong

Abington School District is fucking up big time right now. THey happily announced a $25 million "gift" from a former student, Stephen Schwartzman. The gift was announced at least a month ago, but just this week, they tried to sneak into the school board notes that they are now changing the name of Abington High School to Abington Schwartzman High School. Very fucked up, and the district is now "hiding" dissenting opinions on the Facebook page.

Don't think I know a single school that changed their entire name because of a donation. These idiots got totally manipulated.

A small price to pay in return for $25million donation. At least they didn't have to change their mascot to the "Fighting Schwartzmans" or something.

Exactly, this sets a horrible precedent for naming rights for public schools, too

(Also, the football stadium is already named after Schwartzman)

I'm going to add "never renamed a school for a wealthy donor" to my list of accomplishments when I was a board member. (And really, given that we have elementary schools named "East Side" and "Central" (There used to be a West Side too, but that was torn down) there really is an opportunity there.)

Going to the school board meeting tonight the dude? Reading an article about the secret foundation they set up to handle the donation. All of it seems criminal. The super also makes 320k a year, which is gross.
