I coached my son’s flag football team a few years ago. I signed up to be an assistant coach but they didn’t have enough people to be coaches so I had to be HC and had zero support. One of the other teams (there were 4 in the league) had a guy, whose name you would know (or at least I did) who was on the ‘04 pats team that beat the eagles in the super bowl as coach.

Pretty sure he filmed our practices, his team carved up the big dime I schemed up for the week we were playing them.

Some douche ran a full court press for pretty much the entire night in a youth basketball all-star game I was in years ago. Still hate him to this day for it.

He absolutely did not film our practices because we didn’t practice. He sat in an eagles folding chair, wearing an eagles hoodie and wore his super bowl ring to every game. My team did not know which way to go

On Friday night about midnight I was sitting on my bed looking for something to watch before I fell asleep and I hear footsteps in the hall, my 6 yo daughter comes in, not looking sad or sick or any of the things that a 6 yo typically looks like when waking up in the middle of the night. She looked pissed. She walks over to me and says “you told me you were going to bring me a cup of water” and sure enough I did tell her that at bed time, some 5 hours ago, but she was asleep when I got back to her room so I just took it back to the kitchen. I told her this and she just rolled her eyes, turned around and went back to her bedroom. Kids, man.

Several years ago before I was a dad, I coached my younger cousin's Babe Ruth league team. 13-15 yr olds. The other team was ahead by 10 runs and was still stealing bases. I was never more PO'd at sports than I was at that moment. This was in the last inning they were doing it. Game ended a few minutes later and I was steaming. I wouldn't got out to shake the other team's hands because I knew I would have said something very challenging and explicit to the opposing coaches. I did let my team go shake hands. After the game I told my team that, despite the score, we actually won because we played better and cleaner than they did.

Wow, she mastered the eye roll at six. She sure is advanced. Lil' Vulture didn't have that down until she was eight at least.

Regarding eyerolls, my 2-yr-old son has that in his repertoire. It's funny for now. The humor may not last for long, however.

I think a lot of times, the dads coaching these teams are simply ignorant to these kinds of unwritten rules and aren't actually trying to embarrass anyone. On the other hand, a lot of times the dads coaching these teams are just dicks and are totally doing it on purpose to rub it in.
