I coached my son’s flag football team a few years ago. I signed up to be an assistant coach but they didn’t have enough people to be coaches so I had to be HC and had zero support. One of the other teams (there were 4 in the league) had a guy, whose name you would know (or at least I did) who was on the ‘04 pats team that beat the eagles in the super bowl as coach.

One of the coaches in our tee ball league years ago was in the band, Breaking Benjamin

One year I was President of our Little League and our town hosted an 8 year old minors tournament with like 8 teams from surrounding towns over like a few days... some actually from a decent distance... the umps were local Babe Ruth kids... one coach threw a huge tantrum because of a call by a 14 year old ump and went into a profanity laced tirade and started kicking dirt on the kid like Billy Martin... we had to call the police to escort the guy from the field... that was crazy ...

also when I was managing, one father constantly threatened my one assistant where myself and even the opposing coach had to talk to him during the game... after the game, he came down on the field and got right in the assistants face and threatened to kick his ass, then followed the assistant home in his car bumping into the back of his car...

Parents seriously shouldn’t be allowed within 500 yards of youth sports.

My oldest is 30 and my youngest is 1 with a soon-to-be 7 y.o. in between. Ridiculous.

and I have two grandkids, 6 and 1.

It's almost like I'm trying to make my life as difficult as possible.

From the coach-pitch coach’s intro email:

If you plan on helping at all please let me know so we can get your clearances in. Anyone is welcome to help including mom's.
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

I'm pretty sure he will have openings for them to run the concession stand or wash uniforms
