Phil Laak to play computer in poker.

I thoroughly enjoy watching Phil play, so no dig on him, but you think they couldve come up with a better player than him.

Doesn't it depend on what you are best at? If you are a numbers guy who can crunch the numbers and pot odds quickly, you'd do much better against the computer than a guy who reads others. I have no idea what Laak's style is, but could that be a reason?
Check The Good Phight, you might learn something.

I ended up 3rd though I feel I played the best when 4 and 3 handed. I completely changed 'gears' as it were. However, TRTs brother had a heavy chiplead over Wes when I left. We were the 2 chipleaders 3-handed and I pushed his small raise with a8 suited to try to steal his blinds and he called for 95% of his stack with 77. Those crazy kids love their middle pairs. :) Oh well, 52/48 isn't bad but I didn't think he'd call because of how many chips we each had over wes. Wes folded his way into the money once it got down to 5 handed. You saw that when he folded 88 when you were pushing with ATC every hand.

I will say I fell into a hand. It was 4 handed and I was in the SB with the 3rd most chips and TRT pushed allin under the gun. Wes folds and I look down at AA and just call hoping to get his bro in. That was a very lucky hand to find.

I assume TRTs bro won. I didn't get an email though?

Wes won because Duane's a dope.

He called all of his chips off with bottom pair after watching Wes fold hand after hand heads up.

I had 7's and needed chips badly. Not much else couldve been -the script wrote itself as if you reraise preflop Im committed all in anyways.

I shouldve called when you had KQ and I had 7's and the flop was 10 6 5 rainbow- I dont know why I didnt looking back, usually thats an instacall for me at that stage.

I felt very frustrated Saturday night...just never got anything going.

First 3 hands after the break, I was dealt 22, 99, and 22. I ended up folding when Duane made that big raise to 12k after a bunch of us limped. I would have flopped a set (and would have probably won a big pot), given the crazy postflop action that unfolded that hand. Sound familiar, TRT?

Other 2 hands I didn't flop well and ended up folding, which took like 10k off my stack.

I'm pretty fine with how I went out...that was such a good spot for a squeeze because TRT had to be raising fairly wide and Wes is weak/tight. I wish I'd been a little deeper-stacked, but I didn't think I was going to get a better opportunity to add like 30k to my stack without a showdown, plus I figured to have a fair bit of equity even when I did get called.

Oh well.

Yeah, I had KK on that early hand where you said you had 22, you'd have taken most if not all of my stack, I imagine.

Oh, by the way, screw you and your small pairs.

Oh well.

I know how you feel with folding hands where you would've won HUGE pots. I would've taken out some people with hands i folded that I was thinking about playing (56 suited, 45 suited) but ended up folding because of my position and borderline call. Oh well. I also wasn't playing as tight as people thought, I just got tremendously crap cards the first couple orbits, plus I play a little tighter than most of those guys(especially the guy next to me).

I also rivered a full house with pocket 4s when Paul to my right looked like he had an ace. He waited about 10 minutes on the turn to check, then the 4 comes off and I'm golden and bet just a little hoping he'd raise or call and he instafolds! argh, I'll never figure that guy or father Pine out.

Oh, and it must be in the TRT family genes to hang onto small pairs because both of them pushed all their stacks in with 77 against me. I domianted one and lost a coinflip to the other. :P

Later 3 handed I raised with 2-6 of diamonds and showed and you should've seen the look Eric had. He was pretty annoyed that you played down to the river with 26 TRT. :) Although he should've been able to fold ak/aq or whatever he had

Only time all night I bluffed (aside from a nicesqueeze play, but I still had an ace). I was on the button and raised and get called by Eric and his dad. I hit 2 diamonds on the flop so I had to call the first bet since it was only a 1/3 of the pot. The turn bet wouldve made me fold as it wasnt a diamond but his dad called and I was getting 5 to 1 on my money to call so that's pretty much the same odds of hitting the diamond. So when I spiked the diamond I moved all in. Now why he thought TPTK was good with 2 jacks and 3 diamonds is beyond me.

Yeah, he was saying he pitched for the Scranton Red Sox. As far as I can tell, the last year the Red Sox had an affiliate in Scranton was in the 1950's. The Phillies didn't have Scranton as their AAA affiliate until 1989.

So I don't know if he pitched for a pro team or a semi-pro team or what...I dunno.
