26th, qualified for the next tourney so I'm happy. it became luck of cards when it was down to about 40 because the blinds became ridiculous, i floped a set of 8s on the flop and a lady with pocket aces hit the ace on the river to fill up. what are you gonna do with those blinds though(200/400 with average stack around 900 at that time).

something should've been done with that structure but I guess they like it that way

i will have to make the next 2 montco tourneys to qualify for their toc

Anyone plan on playing or trying to qualify for any FTOPS V or WCOOP events?

I was on a super satillite roll this past weekend. I played in 5 and won super sats for events 3 ($200 + $16, Pot limit hold em), 4 ($500 + $35 Pot Limit Omaha 6 max) and 6 ($300 +$22 NL -- $1,000,000.00 guarantee), so hopefully I will get into at least one of them.

Since I was on a roll I tried my hand at a WCOOP at Poker Stars and took down a satillite for the $200 + $15 Omaha Tourney on September 15......while I was gloating to a friend he was nice enough to remind me we have a fishing trip on that day, so who knows if I will even get to play in that one.

Main point here, other than I need a major dose of luck, you guys should be trying the super sats, they have been real soft.

I had a bad run online and am taking a break for a bit. I also tend to do stupid things more frequently online.

Havent had a hand discussion in a while- so I'll make one up.

Situation- home tourney 3 tables 27 players 25 dollar buy in. There is one rebuy and you havent rebought yet with 2 more blind rounds to go. Blinds are 300/600. Starting stacks were 50K, one player at the table has had to rebuy so far.

At your table (completely made up names  ) :

UTG- Dave- stack of 38K loose and passive player- limps in for 600

UTG+1 Duane- stack of 60K Loose and aggressive player raises to 1900

EP- Wes- stack of 48K tight and passive player calls

MP- Lynn stack of 42K Tight and passive player folds

MP2- Dan stack of 65K Tight aggressive player folds

CU - Hero Brian has stack of 58K looks down at A:d: K:s:

What should hero do?

still left to act:

BU- Eric stack of 45K has image of Tight aggressive player but lately you notice he plays looser at beginning of tourneys.

SB- Joe stack of 50K- just rebought after losing an all in- usually a loose and passive player

BB- Chris stack of 95K- just won a huge pot from Joe. tight agressive player

Knowing Duane's raising range, reraise to hmm...5.5k or so? Dave will probably call (cause well, he's Dave), Duane will call (because of the pot odds), and Wes will probably fold, but might call, and almost certainly won't reraise. If Duane does reraise, you can probably fold, as he wouldn't do that very often with any worse hands. Chris is gonna fold unless he has a monster, Joe might call but his calling range is retarded, and Eric, well, he's smart enough to fold almost anything but a monster in this spot too.

We don't mind building a large pot with a strong hand with position on most of our potential opponents early in this tournament.

I agree, but is just calling here a crime since youre gonna see around 4 players here regardless if you raise it?

Eh, considering you're probably going to win a huge pot with top pair when you hit, it's probably fine to start building said pot now so you can get it all-in eventually.

Calling isn't bad either, it's early, but Eric will probably call because of position and pot-odds, Joe will probably call, and Chris may call because the odds will be insanely good by the time it gets to him, so you definitely up the chances of losing a big pot with top pair to two pair or something when you'll have 6 or 7 people to the fold instead of 3 or 4.
