He does - my bigger concern is we have a huge deficiency in starting pitching, the young guys are pretty meh and Arrieta is probably cooked.

They didn't pursue any SP at last year's deadline because they thought those 3 were good enough. And after proving that they weren't during the second half, they didn't bring any new SP to start this season, apparently still feeling that those 3 are good enough. Makes one wonder...

The pitching stinks and the hitting stinks. It's hard to address all of that quickly without completely gutting your farm system. They at least were able to making the hitting a little better through moves.

Doesn't really make a ton of sense since he's a RH bat who hits righties better, so he's not a great platoon partner with Bruce, but if there's some sort of package deal where we get a starter from them, sure, whatever.
