And I will be in my Pedro jersey!

Is Cliff Lee skipping it because Pedro will be there?

I was just thinking I can't recall the last time Lee was here, and I guess that will continue

Cliff DGAF deal with it
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

I guess Eflin mysteriously hits the Injured List... Nola- Arrieta- Velasquez- Vargas- Smyly… would like to be pleasantly surprised with a nice OF yet though

Take five of the top six guys out of any bullpen and let me know how they fare. The rotation issues are obviously still a factor (though Arrieta's bone spur is yet another injury that affects them) but they've been killed with injuries, and they just weren't that deep a team to begin with.

Very similar to the 2018 Eagles season in this way. Fans (myself included) were frustrated for most of the year because we're cheering for the uniform, but when you list out the injuries, the output makes complete sense.

How much of this is bad luck, and how much is preparation/training/usage? It can't ALL be bad luck, can it?

As far as the relievers go I think, yeah, it is, when you look at the variety of injures and the people involved.

Well Smyly will be there which is basically the same thing.

I'd think many baseball fans would know Blake Parker. He was on my fantasy team last year and had 14 saves last year and 10 this year.

Really similar season to the other Twins cast-off reliever we got. Parker had allowed one run in 11.2 innings between June 15-July 20, but then got bombed for four runs in 0.1 against the Yankees so now he's gone. My unfounded theory that the manager (Baldelli) is an overreacting hothead might have some truth to it

Mentioned in the Vargas topic, but Eflin was demoted to the bullpen. I'm assuming he'll be the long starter when Vince and/or Arrieta can only go 4 innings

“If I don't like it, I should pitch better. I hadn't really been doing my job. Going to the bullpen is another opportunity for me. It's a challenge. I'm a fan of challenges. ... I wholeheartedly believe I'm a starter.”
