Yeah man, the days of goofy, fun 50 pager game threads have gone the way of the dodo.

It is sorta fun that the guy who looks like the biggest lunatic in that thread is the one who works in baseball now and INVENTED a stat

They haven't won a series against an above .500 team since May.
lol the toolshed hater on WIP with angelo on Friday morning said they hadn't BEATEN a team about .500 since may. i didn't feel like looking it up but i kinda figured we hadn't gotten swept against every +.500 team for 2 months.

I don’t know, I think what people are reacting to overall is that those Phillies were 21-14 in blowouts with many more runs scored than allowed (+75). These Phillies are 18-17 in blowouts (which I can’t really wrap my mind around, feels much worse) and are at -21 in those games.
Maybe it’s because they get blown out by the class of the NL at home or whatever (LA, Atl) but I for one feel much worse about them and their quality and their chances than I can recall feeling at any point in 2008.
Go back and read some game threads (if you can stand it). We hated that team around this time that year.

Charlie Manuel is a bumbling idiot. Howard strikes out and is too lazy to adjust. Rollins doesn't hustle. Fire or trade em all!
This is the reality: There are 111 pitchers who have made at least 50 starts from 2017-19, and Pivetta ranks 106th with a 5.42 ERA as a starter. Two of the pitchers below him — Jason Hammel and Bartolo Colon — have retired. Another, Matt Harvey, was just released. Jordan Zimmermann and Homer Bailey, the remaining two with higher ERAs than Pivetta, are sputtering toward the end of their high-priced contracts.
While Pivetta is 106th in ERA among those with 50 starts since 2017, Eflin is 93rd. And Velasquez is 94th.
