I’m against trading bohm for the record.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

Salisbury says it's not out of the question Howard could be pitching for the Phillies in September.

Gelb followed up saying they were entertaining calling Sixto up last year but he got hurt.

Get Howard and Medina in the four and five spot and trade for Blackmon or Puig and maybe a Ken Giles type

I find this hard to believe. Sixto was in A+ ball last season. How many pitchers make the jump from A to MLB? Especially on a team like the Phillies, who hesitate to call up players that are in AA or AAA.

Feel like this has started to trend a bit differently, think this belief should die out soon.

1980 Phillies started 54-48
2008 Phillies started 54-48
2019 Phillies started 54-48

Baseball really is a crazy game.

We all loved the Segura and Realmuto trades when they happened but at this point both are looking like Klentak got raped.

Have to just wonder about the talent evaluation for both the draft and the minors - Crawford never given a chance really, but Franco given thousands of ABs in the majors; the Moniak/Randolph/Haseley trio, passing on some obvious choices like Senzel, Puk, etc.; the fact that the Hamels and Giles trades now look pretty weak on return (although that happens a lot in those kinds of deals for other teams too - the big fail was their evaluation of Appel and the best player they got in Alfaro got dealt away in a deal that looks pretty bad at the moment), etc.

Didn't Crawford have a habit of getting hurt and batting .150?
Fine. You wanna act like you're two? I'll act like I'm one.

Klentak got caught with his pants down because Crawford is hitting .167 this month and made a nice play last night.

Santana was forced on Klentak by Middleton, so that was a mess to clean up. They got Segura out of it. Don’t think they got “raped” in the deal.

Yeah the Crawford stuff seems like it’s going around because that play. It was pretty sweet tbf.

Of course the point stands that the Phillies don’t seem to develop talent well/guys play better elsewhere/worse here.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Crawford cant' hit LHP, and he has no power, at all. It's tough to be a valuable everyday guy, in today's game, with no power. And he's either gonna look real good, but be limited to 450 PA per year, or his inability to hit LHP will drag down his overall numbers.

I'm still happy with the Segura deal.

Realmuto was always a huge risk - have to trade a lot to acquire a guy that you're then almost forced to extend, but is a 30-year-old catcher when you extend him. He's also a .280 hitter with 15-20 HR power, so he's not a star at the plate. People got overexcited over his road splits, and that he held the "best catcher in baseball" title. He's still an excellent player, overall, including his defense, so the "downside" is cost (acquisition+extension) and opportunity cost (Sanchez) rather than his performance. Those are easier to take, IMO.
