He only has a 15 team list. Always assumed the Phillies were on it.

So the Indians are looking for a top bat in return for Bauer. If Klentak is actually talking to them who does he have to give up? I figure it would have to be Bohm right?

Despite all the noise the past week of a bunch of different names, I've heard the Phillies are still most focused on Minor and Ray. They've been in on them since the winter/spring and it hasn't changed. Doesn't mean they are going to trade for either of them, I just think those are the guys they are going to focus on first. After that, my guess is probably Boyd would be next on the list.

I really really hope they don't overpay, I don't think either are good enough to put a major dent in the farm system for.

If they make a move, need someone that’s signed through next season. Want Minor.

That's why they are focusing on guys under control. The downside is they will be more expensive. I really don't think emptying your chamber for guys like this is worth it, because if a true stud does hit the market in the winter or next season, then you definitely can't be in on them. I know Minor has been elite this season, but will it last? The Phillies like him and Ray a lot.

I think they are going to try to avoid taking back significant salary if possible, but if push comes to shove, I think Middleton would probably ok it, he wants to make the playoffs.

I'm very nervous they are going to push their chips in "too soon" and hurt their future.

I tend to agree, but it’s not like they’ve got a wealth of great prospects knocking on the door either.

The chips were pushed when they signed Harp and traded JPC/Sixto. No reason to half-ass it now. Trade whatever it takes for Bauer/Boyd/Ray. We need arms. BAD.

Hunter, Nicasio, Neshek, Smyly are the only guys we could lose this winter to FA. So basically the whole team is back. No need to mortgage everything for 2019.

Heard a month ago Middleton told Klentak to trade Bohm for MadBum. Klentak talked him out of it. Buckle up.

Getting controllable arms isnt mortgaging everything for 2019. We need actual major league starting pitchers (we currently have one) for the next 3 years more than we need prospects (other than Bohm, maybe).

Sometimes I wonder how much of a team's record is based on the luck of when they face certain teams. We're about to play the Giants a bunch and they are red hot: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/284 ... m=referral

Tanner Roark would be a good target. He's on the Reds and is a free agent this year. And he shouldn't cost too much.

I would have thrown Smyly tomorrow night just because Eflin is struggling and the Braves haven't seen Smyly so I like his chances better here

I was thinking the same thing, except Saturday rather than tomorrow
(Brandy) only hinted at Halladay's personal issues during her Hall of Fame speech last July, when she said, "Roy would want everyone to know that people are not perfect. We're all imperfect and flawed in one way or another. We all struggle."
