From some sources, the rich pay More than their share.

that's an interesting way he presents both the figures and the debate around taxes.
Here's another:

you are presenting links to things that don't show what they purport to show. saying the 'rich' pay the majority of taxes and thus it's fine is not how I am looking at it. And it's certainly not how MOST voters look at it, regardless of party. the top of the rich move money around and are able to bypass the federal income tax for the most part. plenty of people making millions of dollars pay taxes, but they also could be paying more in tax (and can certainly afford it) if we took out various loopholes. The tax rates also only start increasing once you reach that threshold; everyone is taxed the same in every bracket before loopholes get some people's income out of certain brackets. the income that reaches a certain threshold is taxed at a higher rate, not the person in general.
rich people are doing fine. wealthy people are doing even better. people proposing a flat tax system want to help the rich and wealthy keep more of their money in order to starve the government of funds. that's fine to hold that position. but this is what it's about.
i'm fine holding the position that i would tax rich people even more.
