Although they both play pretty fast and loose with the facts (news flash), and were talking past each other at times, I thought Obama probably edged out the win, whatever that means. Since you have to work in the truth/facts aspect, scoring debates is fairly ridiculous, but this was a far cry from the Obama of the first debate. He was a weak on points in a few areas (what awesome jobs are we sending to China?), but assertive on others.

How did Benghazi not even get mentioned in a foreign policy debate?

Obama points out that Romney has previously called Russia our most significant threat

Romney retorts that attacking him is not a plan

He's not attacking you Mitt - he's pointing out that you're a goddamn dumbass

like i said early on, that was pretty bad of romney to let slip by, when he had a clear correct view on that. the administration bungled that (not really obama himself, but the guys he put in charge did screw up), and it hardly got mentioned.

Polls show Obama won, but Dick Morris did also, so it kind of cancels out.

From the op-ed
The American auto industry is vital to our national interest as an employer and as a hub for manufacturing. A managed bankruptcy may be the only path to the fundamental restructuring the industry needs. It would permit the companies to shed excess labor, pension and real estate costs. The federal government should provide guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing and assure car buyers that their warranties are not at risk.

how about the last line, though:

In a managed bankruptcy, the federal government would propel newly competitive and viable automakers, rather than seal their fate with a bailout check.

he was against the bailout

Romney never said he wasn't against the bailout. He said he wanted a managed bankruptcy with federal guarantees. He wanted someone else to write the check first before putting the government on the hook.

Remember that focus on the family letter from 2008 pretending to be from the future? Well that day is today. Go back and read it for a laugh and a scare.

Yeah, I know. Blaming all baby boomers is my way of saying to myself "It's not just my family that has all these stupid racists in it."

Seriously :(

I dig where your at my man.

But my generation was big into Civil Rights and all that and many of us still are.

And there are sneaky racists in my generation as well so you're right about that. But there are plenty of racists in every generation to go around. Us right thinking folks need to stay strong!!!!

my grandmother knew how to be a racist. she picked puerto ricans and stuck with 'em. why spread the hate around when you can concentrate on one group only? she liked black people and 'those nice jews' and such. even voted for obama before she died. luckily he wasnt rodriguez, i guess?

i always felt the same as moz re: baby boomers, but that's also probably because I've heard almost everyone in my family who is over 40 say something that could at least be construed as racist.

:small sample size:

then again, i grew up in the lehigh valley, where i'm sure there are more racists per capita than philly.
