From the op-ed
The American auto industry is vital to our national interest as an employer and as a hub for manufacturing. The federal government should provide guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing and assure car buyers that their warranties are not at risk.

Obama can't or shouldn't hurt him if he's going to continue to mislead people on Mitt's original message.

what private company was willing to bail them out? name ONE

Did you read the whole paragraph? Federally guaranteed financing goes a long way in the "free market." The bond debt was exchanging hands a lot leading into the auto bailout. I'm not sure why you're asking for 1 company when it wouldnt have been one.

i'm not sure who would have touched that? what exactly did romney propose that was so 'different' from obama except that he somehow thought that the company completely reneging on its debts was a good idea

This pie would be different if the Obama administration didnt overturn established bankruptcy law. Your inability to concede this point is eerily similar to conservatives claiming that Romney won this debate.

i tend to think thatthis articleis mostly right, and that in the end this was pretty extraordinary and that this was a way better version of tarp.

The Baby Boomer generation is sneaky racist in my experience. You'l be talking with one of them, everything will be reasonable - they might even lean right, but it seems like reasonable right - and then WHAM!!!! There comes the racism.

This has happened to me with someone who I thought was one of my most educated, progressive older relatives. No doubt she is, mostly. But man, there is something seriously wrong with that generation of people when it comes to race (I can tell you that my experience with my aunt, while easily the single most shocking, is not in any way isolated in my experience).

how about the last line, though:

In a managed bankruptcy, the federal government would propel newly competitive and viable automakers, rather than seal their fate with a bailout check.

he was against the bailout

The Dude must not have old relatives. That's exactly what they want to hear from Fox News.

i don't think they're racist on top of being cheerleaders for (R). Thats all.

They might not be, but they know some of their audience is

So you think a huge conglomeration is going to pander to some of the dumbfucks that are racist in hopes of scoring another buffalo wild wings commercial? just stop looking for shit at every turn. this is what being an eagles fan and listening to WIP is like

A lot of dumbfucks aren't so much dumbfucks but old and raised on this shit. Sorry, I'm just a little sensitive to this stuff after I went to a relative's house a few weeks ago (who arent particularly outwardly racist) and overheard them complaining about Michael Strahan being matched up with Kelly Ripa on TV.

and that's a lot different than what happened. so sorry if your personal experience doesn't make it so

Don't even know what you're debating at this point

Yeah, I know. Blaming all baby boomers is my way of saying to myself "It's not just my family that has all these stupid racists in it."
