David Brooks has been more than fair to the President, and he thinks Romney won (slightly). Thought Romney looked like the incumbent, Obama the challenger, based on who was more aggressive (Obama, for sure).

I think that is a fair assessment.

From the op-ed
The American auto industry is vital to our national interest as an employer and as a hub for manufacturing. A managed bankruptcy may be the only path to the fundamental restructuring the industry needs. It would permit the companies to shed excess labor, pension and real estate costs. The federal government should provide guarantees for post-bankruptcy financing and assure car buyers that their warranties are not at risk.

Obama can't or shouldn't hurt him if he's going to continue to mislead people on Mitt's original message.

what private company was willing to bail them out? name ONE

Did you read the whole paragraph? Federally guaranteed financing goes a long way in the "free market." The bond debt was exchanging hands a lot leading into the auto bailout. I'm not sure why you're asking for 1 company when it wouldnt have been one.

i'm not sure who would have touched that? what exactly did romney propose that was so 'different' from obama except that he somehow thought that the company completely reneging on its debts was a good idea

Romney basically said nothing. I don't know how by any message he could have 'won.'

everyone on fox has now weighed in, even the token democrat, and agreed that obama was completely wrong and romney was great, civil, personable and terrific. he also smells like lavender.
