Election Day Thread

Postby CFP » Tue Nov 04, 2008 23:06:59

The presidential race in PA is turning into an absolute blowout. I'm somewhat surprised, but it's not even close right now. Obama's up 61-38 with 47% of the precincts reporting, and that's without Chester County, which has made serious inroads, with 2000 being a 9.6% win for Bush, '04 being about 4% for Bush. Not sure Obama's going to win, but it's damn close here.

I always love when the campaign commercials dissapear and the weird stuff that fills the void in the days immediately after.

For example, CSX and some other train company are blitzing Fox News. What?

John McCain is a good man who deserved better 8 years ago.

I don't think that McCain would have campaigned like this, either in tenor or quality of campaign.

I think he's better than his campaign, and better than his party at this point.

Congratulations to the Obama supporters around here. I hope dajafi is correct that he will govern from the center (left). I have my doubts, but I prefer to be an optimist.

Any news on the Murtha/Russell race?

I really do think he'd have done worse without her.

In the end, the economic collapse ended all of his chances, no VP would have saved him.

POSITIVE FOR BONERS ACROSS THE AISLE
NEGATIVE FOR ELECTION VICTORIES

IMHO
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

Pretty much my least favorite thing from this campaign has been the "the McCain of 2000" crap. And that's saying something, since a lot of crap from this campaign has pissed me off.

The McCain of 2000 was running against Bush, not a Democrat.

The Hillary of 2008 became beloved by many Republicans. Think about that for half a second, then realize how dumb the "McCain of 2000" shit is.

Murtha is up.

Gerlach is tied in his.

Pitts is losing.

Those last two are crazy to me.
