If he keeps the lineup in tact, that makes a good impression as well.

I read it as wanting a former catcher as manager (since they're usually viewed as steady leaders of the pitching staff), someone like Chooch. Seems to be working for Matheny and Ellis right now. Ausmus, Redmond and Eric Wedge.....not so much (and Kevin Cash is TBD)

But the future looks bright no matter how they play it.

I hope this is the case. They should be looking for pitchers to potentially filp at the deadline and/or hitters looking for a 1-year deal in a launching pad to build their value.

Think it was mentioned before but the FA classes the next two offseasons don't look that great right now. This offseason you have Price, Greinke, Heyward, J.Upton and Wieters, then 2016-17 you have Chapman and maybe Strasburg if his arm isn't amputated

Zach Greinke is 31 will be 32 next month. If he opts out of his Dodgers deal, would you jump in on him? If so, how high would you go?

No thanks. We won't contend until he's at least 34 and then we'll be on the hook for another 4-5 years on his downward trend.

Pretty sure his second career is going to be serial killing. He is good though.

I've always wanted to have a serial killing Phillies alum. Urbina's the closest we've got.

Urbina only tried to kill once, though

I never knew about this. Billmeyer is older than I thought.
