I don't think Heyward gets that. Only 9 players in MLB history have signed contracts like that. He's an elite defender and an above average hitter (career OPS+113)--not the profile that hits the truly insane level. Probably more in the 7/$120M -$130M range (which would still be one of the 40 or 50 biggest contracts in MLB history). And he'll only be 26 in April, so I doubt the defensive value would drop during the contract.
Imagine an OF in 2017 of Nick Williams, Altherr, and Heyward. Use Odubel as a 4th OF/backup IF. Sign me up.

So basically we'd be giving Heyward what the Nats gave Werth, but we'd be doing it when Heyward is in his prime as opposed to Werth at the end of his.
