Great, Joseph has shitty knees too.

Why hasn't Joseph played since July 11?

He exercised his Full No-Play Clause.

I hear he hurt his shin. This was after being concussed.

@keithlaw: I think that's Ruben Amaro's strategy too "@MeetingBoy: RT @kreitcher: Time to start waving the company issued magic wands."

Keith really dislikes Amaro

No contest. I don't hate Young at all. I just wish they'd have gotten something for him.

Yeah, this. He's neither my most hated Michael nor my most hated Young on the team. Still wish Tommy Kahnle was pitching for Reading, though.

I really don't have any hate for any of the players.

The hate is fully directed at the dullard occupying the General Manager's position.

Jesus. That's impressive.

We're on a pace to be outscored by 125 runs. We haven't been outscored since 2002 (14 runs, we went 80-81). We haven't been outscored on this scale since 2000 (122 runs, 65-97), Pat Burrell's rookie year. That team had Jeff Brantley (2-7, 23 saves, 5.86 ERA) closing.

It's a low- to high-80s-win team decimated by injuries (not just the risky guys but two young outfielders). Not a huge shock really

Sorry, Grote, low to high 80s is just not right. 2nd worst run differential in baseball doesn't get you to low-to-high 80s. Decimated by injuries? Ruf is an improvement on Howard. Mayberry was an improvement on Revere for the season or at least it's arguable. Halladay was a blow, Utley a blow, etc but you can't be surprised with old guys. Brown has missed about 10 games.

My point was with reasonable health and good fortune it was low to high 80s win type team. As most here and Vegas oddsmakers predicted. Not an embarrassment on par with the 2000 Phillies.

Even if you're right about Mayberry and Ruf -- you're not -- it still depletes depth. And yeah Brown missed 10 games and we lost nine of them. Anyone with even a shred of objectivity here would admit that was a real dick punch

I don't think any one of the three of us should lecture on objectivity.

I think they lost 8 of 9 while he was out, getting outscored 58-23. They lost the 3 games before he was out 14-5. We're playing terribly right now, Dom or no Dom. If he'd been here, and hit some timely homers, we're still looking at at 6 losses in 9 games.

I understand, and it wasn't any one thing. (Although the Brown loss was particularly awful timing). I'm just saying, even you and Trent picked them for 80 and 86 wins. If they end up with 70 (or fewer), I'd say it was more a case of misfortune, on balance, than you and everyone else being way way off base.

The dick punch was losing Revere. He was hitting well and doing things on the base. To jeff or whoever syndor is, saying that Mayberry is better is asinine.
Quick Google shows that GoGo is wrong with regards to the Kiwi and the Banana.
