So out of curiosity, who is our catcher of the future now? D'arnaud, Kennelly, Valle?

I don't really know what to say anymore.

While the first couple years of my Phillies fandom were spent seeing us trade Curt Schilling for garbage, acquiring guys like Kent Bottenfield, Ron Gant, Danny Tartabull, et. al, I have now almost gotten used to seeing the right moves being made in the past four years.

It started with Gillick, and Amaro appears to have out-smugged everyone. Werth, Dobbs, Blanton, Lee, Lidge... it's really unbelievable.

But we really have a lot of starters now.

i think lopez and pedro go to the pen. when our 3 relievers come off the Dl then lopez is gone.

but you have to figure lopez is a better choice than walker/kendrick in the pen

Ruiz for as long as hes able to walk, then maybe they go FA

Maybe we'll take a run at Mauer after 2010 8-)

With adding Ben Francsico (wasn't that the Alien cop from Alien Nation? No, that was Sam Francisco...I digress), who drops from the bench? Brunt or Mayberry?

Brunt backs up all the infielders, so it would appear that mayberry is odd man out. Plus he's more of a prospect, so he could use regular ABs. But he's also expendable now. We're swimming in cheap OFs.

I knew that Brunt is the infield backup... well, the SS/2b backup, Dobbs can play the corners...but it's just wishful thinking that he goes away.

Far, far away.

Remember when the most exciting trade of the season was Endy Chavez for Marlon Byrd?

I'd be fine with letting Howard walk and using that money on Mauer. I'd actually take all of you fuckers to Ruby Tuesday's if that happened. Perhaps give you all a free vaccination as well.

One of my college buddies is a big Indians fan who lives in Cleveland. He wrote this on my Facebook wall:

"You must live a charmed life! You just got the reigning CY Young winner and a decent outfielder for a bunch of broken down prospects. The Indians are officially MLB's AAA team. Hope you enjoy your second consecutive World Series ring in Philly."

Endy Chavez :)

Mets fans still talk about that catch like it was a gift from god. Too bad they lost that game :-D

Are you kidding me? Didn't realize we were missing a 31 year old sub 800 ops, poor defensive centerfielder
