Of potentially important states, only New Hampshire is lower at 18%. Ohio at 35% is the only other even under 40% of 2016 votes.

71% of returned ballots in PA are from registered Dems. No other important state is anywhere close to that kind of partisan imbalance, though Dems are outrunning Republicans pretty much everywhere.

had one trumpster post on a neighborhood thread about early voting that it was really stupid because 'what if your candidate dies before the election?'

yes that's real. the amount of mind-@#$%ing these people are susceptible to is amazing.

Lesley Stahl: “So what just happened with the president?”

Father Pence: “President Trump is a man who speaks his mind. I think it’s one of the great strengths he has as president of the United States”.

Leslie Stahl: “But he walked out”

It is. Talked to the Trumpy brother today and he was spewing the 3% Federal Property tax BS. Even claimed to have read it in Biden's plan.

How would that even be less chaotic than if he died right before election day? It's not like someone voting for Trump would be like "guess I'll vote for Biden instead" or vice versa.

I think the only time it's ever even happened was in the 1870s and the candidate lost anyway but it was prior to the electoral college vote and after the popular vote, so those electors basically just picked random people.

Found it 1872 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1872_Un ... l_election

3 electors still voted for the dead guy. Great system, that electoral college

Any worries about GOP getting more new registered voters than Dems this cycle in PA? I think they have a net of 180,000 more new voters...

I believe Dems still have 400,000 more registered voters in the state, plus I think new independent voters will go for Biden

Yea, I've brought it up a few times. Trump had a 1m voter deficit last time. He has anywhere from 500 to 750k deficit this time. Smart people don't seem to be worried, though

From what I recall it’s supposedly a lot of people that were already voting republican as opposed to new voters or people changing their politics. It’s related to why Biden is doing so much better with independents.

Her confirmation is a lot more popular than anything else associated with the president and the party

Not sure reminding everyone about people getting the Rona at her announcement is a good thing to bring up 8 days before the election though by reprising the event

Just let her get confirmed and put a statement out

From Dave Wasserman:

A few days out, the picture of this race is pretty clear:

1) Biden's lead (52%-43%) larger & more stable than Clinton's in '16
2) Far fewer undecided/third party voters than '16
3) District-level polls (which showed big problems for Clinton in '16) back up national/state polls

If you're looking for a horse race narrative right now, you're not going to find it here. There was a time when it was easy to imagine this race going much differently. Eight days out, it's much, much harder. I've seen...almost enough.

A controversial story alleging wrongdoing by former Vice President Joe Biden's family in foreign business dealings was pitched by Trump allies to The Wall Street Journal before it appeared in the New York Post, The New York Times reported.

According to the Times, White House lawyer Eric Herschmann and former deputy White House counsel Stefan Passantino were among those within President Trump's circle who had pitched the Biden story to Wall Street Journal reporters. Trump's allies reportedly hoped the story in the Journal, a trusted paper, would play in Trump's favor ahead of the November election.

"Kayleigh McEnany, gave us a heavy book that she described as the president’s health care plan. It was filled with executive orders and congressional initiatives, but no comprehensive healthcare plan," she said.

Guess they figured CBS would look at it, just be impressed with the heft.

Was that directed at my comment? Actually, the real reason I am afraid to touch the stove again is because I got burnt the first time; I could give a shit what brand it is. I am completely fine with Joe Biden and will enthusiastically cast my ballot for him next Tuesday.

no, it was directed at the people saying that we only are afraid Trump will win because our favorites didn't get the nomination. I agree with you.
