Biden in Plain Sight: Politics

CDC website took down the ways that the virus spreads for some reason. Spokes person said it was for review. I’m sure that there was no politics behind it where it talks about social distancing and wearing masks, and then it spread through aerosol transmission.

FWIW - I don't think MD should be banned for this, but it would be less ridiculous than Pac's banning.

I've waited awhile to respond to this post. I'm going to break it down in an outline format. The rest of you can write the essay, if you want.

1. Moz
....a) Moz ran in a primary.
....b) Moz did not win. (I'm sorry, nothing personal, I'm sure he's a great guy)
....c) Within 2 hours of the announcement of RBG's death, Moz mentions civil war.
....d) Kind of uncalled for considering the circumstances.
....e) I called him out, which there was nothing wrong with that.

2. 06hawkalum
....a) Calls it a pot-shot to call out somone who has run for office mentioning a civil war. (It's not)
....b) Calls for me to be banned. (LOL)
....c) I've been threatened with physical violence by a poster on this board. He wasn't banned.
........ 1. viewtopic.php_f=60&t=16033&p=2108267&hilit=punch#p2108267

3. Pacino
....a) Some of us still talk o him
....b) You can unban him.
....c) He's not coming back.

4. 06hawkalum, Pt 2
....a) Get off your high-horse and calling for me to be banned. Go fuck yourself.

If you're in Chester County, you can go to Voter Services starting today and vote. It's that workaround where you apply for you mail in ballot on site, they hand it to you, you vote, and then hand it back. They have not made it public yet because they aren't ready for a huge surge of folks but that is an option.

Des Moines Register's latest poll has Biden and Trump in a dead heat. I still don't think a democrat can win a state wide race but this is encouraging along with the latest Greenfield/Ernst poll.

was under the impression they will start mailing out this week. I know MontCo has started. I do not think we are too far behind.

can check here: http://votespa.com/mailballotstatus

however, you should get an email when it is mailed.

i got my email yesterday that my ballot is on the way. Since the green party thing got thrown out, i'd assume the whole state should start seeing theirs really soon.

Kind of regretting getting the mail-in ballot, I think they should be legal and going forward an option for anyone who wants to get one, but I feel like in this election, with this president, having the votes in and counted on election night is going to be important.

Speaking of which, when are people supposed to receive the mail in ballot? I guess it varies by state? I’d sure like mine ASAP.

EDIT: I guess that was sort of answered up thread. /joboggi

I'm in the same boat.

Thanks Cal for the update. I did check the website first and it only says they've received my request so figured I'd ask on the timeline for mailing.

point taken, but after experiencing the mess that is the new montgomery county scantron sharpie ballots in person at the polling place, i'd really prefer to do it at home.

I agree. I am in a similar boat. I've found that I can void mine and vote in person, but it is a little tricky. Making things harder is that there are TWO processes listed. One is mail it back to void then wait for acknowledgement that it has been processed and the other says it can be voided at a polling place. This guidance is at two different places on the county's elections website. I reached out to them, but they are understaffed and overwhelmed (and not taking volunteers).

Every bit of that scares me with my vote.

Blame the republican state Legislature. They refuse to vote on legislation that would allow counties to start counting mail in ballots before election day. The state and plenty of counties have asked for relief there.

They did have one bill that allowed for 3 days of what is called pre-canvassing. However, that bill made drop boxes illegal and allowed for people from other counties to work polls across the state. It's one of their big dreams to flood polls I. Philadelphia with people as some sort of intimidation tactic.

if you have a mail in ballot you can still go on election day. in 2016 my montco polling place had maybe 30 people in line near opening. if you're outside and standing 6ft apart its not really going to be too risky to vote in person and there will be so many fewer people due to mail-ins. if i was in a suburb i'd probably vote in person but i would bet my polling place is going to be nuts in CC philly.

After seeing my polling place in Philly in 2019 I didn't have much interest in voting in person in the spring. The new equipment came in for fall 2019 which confused a ton of people, had never seen it take so long to vote. Sure, it was only 45 minutes or so but that's too long in this day and age. I want to vote by mail forever.
