I've tried to find the anger and frustration about this news but am just not feeling it. If you can't read the gigantic font that says please put your ballot inside the secrecy envelope I don't know what to say. It was fairly easy to follow in the spring and frankly if you're that stupid your vote shouldn't count. There's my hot take.

Seems like they should have ruled on that before so many ballots were already cast

Yea, the notification and new ballot will arrive on November 4th.

This is just the beginning of legal (and otherwise) fights by Trump in each battleground state — both before and after November 3 — to get as many votes as possible disqualified. In particular I’m sure they’re targeting the mail in votes especially on the assumption that most of the early voting is for Biden. The legal challenges this year are going to make the 2000 Florida fight look like a hearing over a parking ticket.

PA Supreme Court justices are directly elected and have to be re-elected every 10 years.

Also my point was that it's a Dem court so I would think unlikely to rule in a way they know would hurt a Dem unless the case was really strong on its merits. This makes me inclined to think the correct decision was made.

Let me guess, you grew up in the suburbs and went to a good school. All people should be allowed to vote, even the ones who grew up in poverty and maybe didn't have good schooling or the time to go. And if not being stupid were a requirement, half of the Trumps supporters would be nixed, maybe a lot more than half. Stupid and/or evil seems to cover his base.

I really hope the numbers are small.

Yeh, that's what I was going to say. Usually you don't make changes in rules this close to the election, but in this case, I think they can say the rules were in place and people just didn't follow them, which is probably why they were made complicated to begin with.

I don't recall what happened in florida with the chads. Didn't the court decide that votes should be counted if the intention of the voter could be reasonably discerned? If so, maybe we'll win the case at a higher level.
