This is the stuff that has me despairing. I'm phone banking for Biden on the weekends, but what can I realistically do as a citizen to counteract a coup?

As bad as a potential Trump win is how he might win, i.e., further eroding democratic institutions and making the country a democracy in name only.

As I alluded to earlier, this is just liberal fearporn. The state officials are not going to risk their lives for Trump's sake.

My wife still hasn’t received her PA mail in ballot. If it never comes, she can just show up and vote, correct?

Yep...my mom even received a ballot during the primary, decided not to send it back, and still voted in person

The vast majority of people have not. They just started getting mailed like yesterday.

And if she requested, she will have to bring everything to the polling place (ballot, secrecy envelope, return envelope) and have the judge of elections spoil it.

Ok, thanks. I knew they were sent based on all the naked ballot talk but haven’t paid attention to when it all started.

Ok. So, she has to come with the mail-in as received and ask for it to be terminated in order to vote in person?

Yes. But she will get it and she can drop it off at voter services if worried about the mail. It will count. Honestly would say that's the right way to go. Spoiling it and then voting, who knows.

We were just game planning if it doesn’t come at a normal time to return. We plan to drop it somewhere in advance if possible.

I, on other hand, am voting in person.

Why not be safe and both vote in person? We're going back and forth on this now

Forget if Cal shared this already but another option in Chester County:

*2020 Election Announcements*

Drop boxes: 10 drop boxes for ballots will be placed at public libraries beginning Oct. 13. Hours of operation: M-F 9:00AM to 7:00PM, and Sat/Sun from 10AM to 2PM.

Libraries: Avon Grove, Chester County (Exton), Coatesville, Downingtown, Easttown, Honey Brook, Kennett, Parkesburg, Phoenixville, and Spring City. (Thank you librarians!)
An additional 24/7 ballot drop box location will be available at the West Chester Government Services Center.

All Ballot Drop Boxes will be staffed and secured while in operation. Drop boxes will be taken back to West Chester each night by employees with body cameras.

Thanks for this info Cal, I might do this myself.

Now, how do I vote 700,000 times?

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't think about politics more than a couple times per week. What a challenging time.

I didn’t do the request in time tbh. And at the point of realization, didn’t want to risk it.

Risk what? If you're going it's not risky for your wife either. We go back and forth on this, and the naked ballot thing has become worrisome

He means risking getting the ballot too late. I think that's a fair concern considering what happened in the primary. Counties are much more prepared now, but if you can go in person at this point you may as well.

In person has plenty of problems too. Can't tell you how many times I've been at the poll and people show up at the wrong place, aren't registered at all, etc etc.
