Yes, this is what I've been thinking. First, if he knew about it, why didn't he do anything. And if he didn't know about it, who are the traitors who kept it from the President?

But even before we need the answer to that questions, we need to know why isn't anything being done now? If the intel is correct, how are we going to punish russia for this? He didn't follow through with the sanctions last time (even though he said he did). What is he going to do now?

Club For Growth put out a negative ad on The Lincoln Project.

We now have PACs attacking PACs. We are through the looking glass.

The NYT has gotten so much wrong and I don't doubt this is made up bullshit either.

Enough with the nameless, sources less buklshit

Lol

Take a break buddy

In fairness, I also reflexively call bullshit whenever Bolton speaks. But I think this has been confirmed through multiple channels and even the WH hasn't denied the intel at all.

I think the intel was in one or more daily briefings and Trump was just too lazy to read them.

didn't someone yesterday already put out a statement denying the credibility of the intel and saying thanks to NYT they'll never find out the truth?

Poughkeepsie-based Supreme Court Justice Hal Greenwald issued the order (to block Mary Trump's book) Tuesday at the request of President Trump’s brother Robert, who claims the book violates a non-disclosure agreement that was part of the settlement of Fred Trump’s estate following his death in 1999.

I'm thinking the New York times stuff that laid out how the layers of shell companies made mad profits on all of the family's businesses, and has some of their shell companies managed the bankruptcies of Donald's other companies to show a profit, might crimp Robert's style if the money flow stopped.

Honestly, Trump's siblings are just freaking ghosts aren't they. His kids are out there trolling all day long, except for the one he hates, but his siblings are just not to be found.Heck, you could probably make the case that he ruined his sister's career as a justice.

Yes, I forget who, I think it was some congressman.

I agree he could have not read the briefing, but I don't see how he wasn't told verbally. I think that's how he does it.... someone sums it up for him. It's important enough that I can't imagine someone not following up. "UM, about that thing where russians are paying bounties on our soldiers' lives.... what do you want to do?"

Also, keep one eye on China. We know he asked China to help him and China would have no problem doing so if they thought it would advance their interests. They would LOVE a hands off president that allows them to expand into the South China Sea and continue to buy up Africa and southeast Asia.

They said there was "no consensus" about the intel and implied that now that the NYT let the cat out of the bag, they'll never be able to find out the real truth. Given the additional revelations today about the money trail, I find the administration's take yesterday to be its usual excrementum bovis.

I guess you just keep asking people until you get the answer you want.

Got to the Coast Guard Intel service who said they had no opinion since its outside of their lane, so there was lack of consensus.

I did some door knocking for a progressive candidate running for US Senate in another state. I think they have good ideas and support good things but also they share things like the below on their social. I'm not an expert by any stretch but what are the other options outside of war? Also, it seems likely that sanctions will be placed on countries with a majority brown/black population because the world is only like 16 percent white. Also the idea that they "clearly" do not work is questionable.

The post links out to an Brookings piece from 1998: https://www.brookings.edu/research/econ ... 86GzKkw6Bk

When it comes to foreign policy, the US often uses economic sanctions to bend other countries to our will. But usually, sanctions do more harm than good.

Sanctions are blunt tools that cripple the country’s entire economy, and they always cause the most harm to people who are already disenfranchised by their government. As a result, the rich and powerful remain largely unaffected, but the poor and working class suffer from famine and mass unemployment. It's not an accident that we use sanctions against majority-Black and Brown countries the most.

Clearly, sanctions don’t work for any parties involved: they punish other nations' working class, they're racist, and they are ineffective at changing behavior. It’s a practice we should end, the sooner the better.

he's not saying he's liking them. he's saying this guy wants to eliminate them without postulating an alternative, when the only commonly known alternative is force.

Seen numbers like 40% success rate for multi-lateral ones. I do understand uni-lateral is hardly ever effective. There are plenty of sanctions that are not "economic" too.

I think it is not smart to remove a tool from your toolbox.
