Top officials in the White House were aware in early 2019 of classified intelligence indicating Russia was secretly offering bounties to the Taliban for the deaths of Americans, a full year earlier than has been previously reported, according to U.S. officials with direct knowledge of the intelligence.

The assessment was included in at least one of President Donald Trump’s written daily intelligence briefings at the time, according to the officials. Then-national security adviser John Bolton also told colleagues he briefed Trump on the intelligence assessment in March 2019.

Imagine what else he fucked up or let go by if he was willing to let this go.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

No it doesn't. Who knows if it's real or not. But if Bolton's name is attached it's mostly a lie.

The NYT has gotten so much wrong and I don't doubt this is made up bullshit either.

I was worried before this, but even HE can’t survive this...

Right?

Just like he couldn't survive being caught on camera admitting to sexually assaulting women 1 month before the election.

Our President is too busy in the morning spewing out vile hate speech on Twitter to read his daily briefing and we’re going to blame the NYT?

Pence/Haley or vice versa is a real thing and may be the only way to keep Trump out of jail. He would then just need to beat the SDNY rap.

But I don't think Trump will go along with it. He's delusional and I really do think he's compromised. Maybe Putin has something on his daughter. I can't imagine what he'd have on Trump that Trump wouldn't just blow off like he does everything else. Unless he's having sex with little girls, big boys, or doing snuff films, I think he can survive anything else. He may even be able to survive the first one of those.

My wife and I were discussing this a bit last night and I suggested that maybe there is more truth to the Steele Dossier than was able to be confirmed (or even stuff missed). I then half-jokingly suggested that maybe he [accidentally] killed a Russian prostitute and Putin has it on tape somewhere.

Most reported news doesn’t have a source’s name attached. If it did, most sources wouldn’t want to come forward.

I hate to say that Monkeyboy might be right  , but here we go. If the bait on the hook were that he steps away before the election and Pence pre-pardon's him for any and all transgressions that would be an inducement that the deal maker could not resist.

Donald dueling 4th celebrations last year (against the 'Capital 4th' on the mall) turns out that the total costs to the tax payer is 2x other years. Remember it was all covered by patriots? Another classic Donald Trump rouse.

I was thinking about a related topic today. If a conservative was constructing the dream person to corroborate this stuff, what would his or her credentials be? And then if this person came forward with info, would that person be believed?

Long, distinguished military career in the marines
Devout Christian
Appointee of either Reagan, Bush, or Trump
Endorsed by Trump, and worked with him for years in a senior leadership position
Not writing a book

If this person thought that Trump was a danger to the US, would you listen, Jamiethekiller?

Why not really blow their minds and say it was confirmed in Hillary’s emails?

Am I missing something? To my understanding, nobody within the United States, not even Trump, has denied there is/was intelligence that Russia was offering bounties for dead American soldiers. The denial is that Trump and/or Pence were informed of such a plot; which, of course, is ridiculous on its face.

I think somebody noted this a few pages back but either (i) everybody is lying to protect Trump and Pence [what else is new] or (ii) there should be mass firings for keeping something of that magnitude from them. My money is on the former as it simply defies logic that bounties being offered on American lives would not be part of a briefing at some point. I do not buy the "intel did not share with POTUS or VP because there was disagreement about the validity of it" for a nanosecond.

Let's get the intel confirmed (meaning the bounties themselves) and then ask "OK President, maybe you didn't know about it before but you do now. What are you going to do?!"

Maybe I misheard but haven't our allies already confirmed the bounties?
