fiscally mismanaged states want to get people off the unemployment rolls and have them have no money instead. the federal government is a disgrace.

Again, this is what to expect from a party which doesn't believe in government and believes that one of the best ways to keep people from collecting unemployment is to make it as difficult as possible to get it. It can't be said enough that, if you want good government, you just can't elect people who believe in no government and/or using bad government as a weapon.

We've been through a number of major disasters this century--9/11, Katrina debacle, Financial collapse of 2008, and now this. They all have something in common. They happened while Republicans were running things. Regardless of your ideological views, we're talking about a party that is simply incompetent at running things.

Katrina is a decent comparison with the incompetence of state and local elected Democrats leading to untold death and misery.

You can also say that
-9/11 brewed up over 8 years under Clinton (unless you think it was carried out on a whim)
-Katrina had everything go wrong on the ground in New Orleans under Ray Nagin after years of neglect by the Army Corps of Engineers
-Housing crisis was decades of bad policy in the making hastened by the ballooning of Fannie/Freddie

There's no real difference between the parties in terms of the quality of governing. They both largely suck in their own ways.

GD is correct. OBL was known about under the Clinton administration, but the small matter of the impeachment hearing got in the way. To be clear, Clinton was not making major military moves while the hearing was going on.

They gotta start somewhere, makes sense to start with these counties and see how it goes.

Also yellow doesn't mean go do what you want, there are still a lot of restrictions.

It changes a lot. It gives people a light at the end of the tunnel. Even though larger counties won't be yellow for a while at least they have hope that it is coming.

We print our own money son. We absolutely can implement universal income to tide everyone over until there is an effective treatment or vaccine.

Keep in mind, "reopening" won't accomplish #$!&@ as long as a large percentage of consumers are scared to leave their homes. At least for now businesses can take advantage of the aid available to them, rather than needing to close permanently due to lack of income.

I guess if you don’t actually read about it. Probably causes panic it’s too early for just as many others

If the majority of cases in this state are occurring in nursing homes I don’t see an issue. Even if that wasn’t the case I don’t see an issue

If people think it is too early to move to yellow phase for these northern counties then they are probably the same people who think we should have 0 cases before letting anyone leave their homes. Just not realistically possible to do.

You take small steps at lower risk counties and see how it goes.

Not commenting on the rest but the money printer's been going non-stop since this hit and the "conservatives" love it in an election year where they hold the presidency and senate.
