We've been through a number of major disasters this century--9/11, Katrina debacle, Financial collapse of 2008, and now this. They all have something in common. They happened while Republicans were running things. Regardless of your ideological views, we're talking about a party that is simply incompetent at running things.

We print our own money son. We absolutely can implement universal income to tide everyone over until there is an effective treatment or vaccine.
Keep in mind, "reopening" won't accomplish #$!&@ as long as a large percentage of consumers are scared to leave their homes. At least for now businesses can take advantage of the aid available to them, rather than needing to close permanently due to lack of income.

We can print our own money but I don’t think conservatives will go along with that. And at what point does printing your own money have repercussions?

They gotta start somewhere, makes sense to start with these counties and see how it goes.
Also yellow doesn't mean go do what you want, there are still a lot of restrictions.
