Please don’t insult people with learning disabilities, the easily conned, the racists, and the flat out morons like that. What do you expect them to do, support universal healthcare and universal sick leave, which would obviously destroy our economy?

I don’t like sending money to non-local races, but I might just send funds to Kelly.

I got an Amy McGrath ad today on tv. I have to assume it was intentional to grab funds to try to put Mitch away. It was a little surreal yet compelling.

Clearly the GOP schills in office today are the non-partisan peace makers and the Dems are the dividers Based on the press conference.

He was at a wedding I believe. I'm not going to assume someone "messed up pretty significantly" because they were found in a public place with a male escort.

Not really the same situation. No drugs and no gay. It plays a little different with the GOP base.

How does being at a wedding mitigate it? Had the escort been female I'd still say he messed up pretty significantly.

He was in a place where he most likely did not have control of the guest list. Without most of the details one could believe he was found in a hotel room with his pants down and a syringe in his hand.

Not so fast on the house bill. The exemptions for paid sick leave are ridiculous and evidently the only way to get Republicans on board.

The post earlier that this is all pr to him is correct, exponentially. He's made an entire life out of not creating anything other than the experience of conflict. Hotels, gambling, TV, none of it "makes" anything. It's the ongoing illusion of a lifestyle. He doesn't DO anything because he's never had to.

It's never going to end until he dies.

I say plenty, that's a stretch, since many have just gone along w him bc they dont know how to stand up to him. But the NatReview/AmerConservative faction def hates him.

don't want to shit up the COVID-19 thread so i'll respond here.

i mainly just want to respond to the bolded section. What exactly do those principled conservatives hate that he does? i would argue that policy wise they are in complete alignment and are loving what he is doing, he is just so brash and disgusting in the execution that he is embarrassing them.

the judicial nominees, for example. nearly every republican says that that alone is worth it. that is what the conservative project is-- to install ideologues at all levels of govt committed to dismantling govt from the inside. stripping the state of all it's function/abilities except for the police and military, IS the conservative platform today. they are proud to say it. this pandemic has put so many of their "principles" to the test:

-- here's a GW Bush economics advisor saying means testing for handing out disaster relief funding is silly. seems like this logic should just apply even during normal times
-- the British conservative party's response to the pandemic is: just get the disease and good luck! props to them for being so brutally honest at least
-- mitch mcconnell made sure the senate left on thursday evening to head to KY for the investiture of another one of those unqualified federal judges (brett kavanaugh tagged along)
-- Trump's CDC director basically said ""I guess I anticipated the private sector would have engaged and helped"
-- how about Susan Collins personally ensuring 870M in pandemic preparations got cut from the 2009 stimulus bill
-- Trump delayed COVID-19 testing for personal political gain, which is par for the course and something one could argue a "regular" GOP president would not have done. sure. but how about lamar alexander then blocking the sick leave bill because “The idea of paid sick leave is a good idea but if Washington, D.C. thinks it's a good idea Washington, D.C. should pay for it."

i could go on and on. let me also throw in that dems have gone along plenty with many of these things. latest example being the awful sick leave bill Pelosi negotiated which doesn't cover some 80% of american workers

i guess in summary, for a long time now, the conservative movement in america and abroad has been about the dismantling of the state apparatus (other than police/prisons and military) and unfortunately we are all, as a nation, about to reap what they have sown

The Dem Party has batted 1.000 since the week before SC. Tonight should be simple: it shouldn’t be a debate. It should be two candidates focused entirely and collectively on the seriousness of the virus, the facts as we know them, the prospective plan at the state levels and then the utter failure of the federal government, including Congress, the Senate and obviously the WH. There doesnt even need to be a focused effort to highlight the WH failures. Less is more.

That’s how tonight should play out.

Focus on the severity the facts and then a call to action. Unify those who are seeking leadership.
On a scale of 1 to Chris Brown, how pissed is he?

And to be clear the tweets about Flynn are he is considering a pardon because he believes that the justice department has lost information about Flynn's case that would exonerate him. So you know coronavirus or conspiracy theory. For don it's going to be conspiracy theory every time.
