My brother owns a windshield repair company and does well with it. He has two employees who both make around 50k/year. He said if business shuts off and there's no money coming in, he can wait 3 or 4 weeks before he has to lay off the first guy and another 2 weeks before he's have to lay off the other. He's told them this so they are prepared. It's unclear how this will affect his business, but he's concerned people will stay home and there will be much fewer repairs. He does have some corporate accounts, so maybe that will keep him afloat enough to keep everyone on the payroll.

This is exactly the problem, isn’t it? The Republicans don’t believe in government and Trump doesn’t know how. So all they’ve got in their quiver is tax cuts and free market prayers. It’s the descendant of Hoover’s unwillingness to help during the depression (although he knew how to get things done; he just refused to have the Feds do anything). Hopefully the silver lining to this mess is that Trump and the Republicans’ callousness, unwillingness and inability to govern has now been fully exposed and it will lead to them being swept out of office in the Fall.

I think it speaks volumes that the DOW 30 was down over 2,000 pts yesterday, the day after Trump gave his prime-time speech.
