I apologize if this comes across as dismissive but does it matter? Rs have a lengthy record of giving zero fucks about anything Trump does. Republicans (not all) love to tout themselves as America- and Constitution-loving patriots but they are only that to the extent it benefits them. In this latest scandal, it really should not matter whatsoever if Trump threatened to withhold aid if they didn't investigate Biden. That obviously makes thing much worse but absent that wrinkle, our President still has admitted, several times, that he pushed a foreign government to influence our elections (for his benefit) by investigating a political rival. It does not get much more UNpatriotic than that.
