Politics: Fine Politicians on Both Sides

lol:
The two men spoke at least a half dozen times before Mr. Biden decided to run, and Mr. Obama took pains to cast his doubts about the campaign in personal terms.

“You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t,” Mr. Obama told Mr. Biden earlier this year, according to a person familiar with the exchange.

Mr. Biden — who thinks he could have defeated Donald Trump four years ago — responded by telling Mr. Obama he could never forgive himself if he turned down a second shot at Mr. Trump.

Mr. Obama has said he will not make an endorsement in the primary, and has offered every candidate his counsel. But he has taken an active interest in the inner workings of his friend’s campaign, to an extent beyond anything offered to other candidates.

When they were done, Mr. Obama offered a pointed reminder, according to two people with knowledge of his comments:

Win or lose, they needed to make sure Mr. Biden did not “embarrass himself” or “damage his legacy” during the campaign.

IF YOU ARE SOMEONE who is looking forward to Congress coming back into session and passing gun control, take a look at what President DONALD TRUMP said Sunday before leaving New Jersey.

QUESTION: “But you’re not willing to support universal background checks right now?”

TRUMP: “I’m not saying anything. I’m saying Congress is going to be reporting back to me with ideas. And they’ll come in from Democrats and Republicans. And I’ll look at it very strongly. But just remember, we already have a lot of background checks."

And he's out. Shocker.

The hosts of Fox & Friends accused fellow members of the media Monday morning of trying to cause a recession after a down week on Wall Street.

The segment, which also featured Fox Business's Charles Payne, began with a compilation of clips from the other television networks discussing the stock market's 800-point plunge the previous Wednesday and what it could lead to.

“It’s so obvious what they’re doing!” Ainsley Earhardt stated. “They do not want him to win again and they don’t like that the economy is doing well, apparently.”

Seems that it was not a slip when Don referred to Fox News as "we".

President Trump alleged Monday that Google manipulated millions of voters into supporting former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election, saying the company “should be sued”

@realDonaldTrump

Wow, Report Just Out! Google manipulated from 2.6 million to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016 Election! This was put out by a Clinton supporter, not a Trump Supporter! Google should be sued. My victory was even bigger than thought!

This just in from Don: Love me, love me, love me like I love me.

Google looked at the claim, and said this:

In 2017, Google dismissed Epstein’s research, telling The Washington Post that it amounts to “nothing more than a poorly constructed conspiracy theory.”

Then again, conspiracy theory is someone's home, or home away from his government supplied housing home.

had the displeasure of visiting one of those aggregate news site that fans the flames of politicization and hysteria... even that site turned on trump too.

it's over for him, as long as the democratic nominee sounds sane, still has a pulse in biden's case, doesn't cater to the far left and for god's sake don't make it seem you're caring more about immigrants than citizens, it would make hoover/fdr seem close. if the democrats do those things, a 3rd party candidate would not be considered a spoiler, but probably a victor. (howard schultz)

don't get me wrong, you don't abandon the far left, but they shouldn't lead the party. they're there to introduce some ideas and act as a litmus test. they got to know when to take the foot off the gas, and actually many have been which is good.

i know to win the primary you got to go pretty far left, but you have to be very careful it doesn't come back and bite you later on when you got to go center.

and as grandma used to say, don't get into a fight with a pig in a pen, you're guaranteed to get dirty and lose too.

AZ, you have a read on the temperature between McSally and Mark Kelly? McSally as a one race loser and appointee seems at risk, but AZ is not really a blue state.

it's 50/50, she an incumbent, reddish state and while she follows in trump's footsteps, she's not repulsive. so far no charisma from kelly, he appears to be your manufactured candidate for this race. his wife would've destroyed mcsally tho. sinema who's an all star, is doing an awesome job and making sure the letter D is not a bad word. it will go down to the wire.

i think both are afraid of putting their foot in their mouth. both are quite capable of it though, one because you're following trump, the other inexperience. and i think that's what the race will come down to. the loser won't be able to get their foot out of their mouth in time.

This poll, although it has a rather misleading title, certainly confirms your premise AZ. If you factor in the margin of error, it would have Kelly up just a percent or two. The good news for Kelly is that he has an advantage in Maricopa at the moment. He needs to keep that.

FWIW - that quip is a parody by a pundit. It might be too crazy not too to be 'real donald', but it is not real.

Pretty much forever about any serious topic.

I do like the idea that he wants a tax cut to buy votes for us consumers.

The study author says that Trump does not understand his report, and they way he describes it is incorrect.

Industry says that the study does not pass peer review.

FOX Business news, however, put this conspiracy out there.

Harris is polling @ 5%? How did that happen? That is a 12 point fall in a month, and her lowest showing in the same poll.

She was bad at the last debate, she has few, if any, thoughtful policy ideas, her own record is questionable. In particular, her poor performance at the last debate punctured the theory of her invincibility in a debate with Trump. Very smart person but not a great candidate so far.

How come not a single republican gives a shit about the deficit anymore? They used to have the ticker constantly counting and paul ryan would look at it sadly.

I'm sure the deficit will become a clear and present danger the day the next dem president is sworn in
