On this timeline it could be OK, but it's A little quixotic because the less time it takes the more likely acquittal is the outcome (because less time from now until impeachment implies less new information is revealed and therefore what we have now is as much or as close to as much as there will be).

The benefit of a quick process is the political damage of having done it, to the extent there is any, will have subsided with time and the interventions of the 24 hour news cycle; the detriment is it means no conviction is likely, and in fact the damage it inflicts on the president will be limited by the same circumstances as will limit the damage the process does on Democrats.

Seems pretty obvious that the plan was to have Barr once again say nothing to see here. Maguire sent it to them because if his words are to be believed his has no responsibility to do anything basically.

People are overlooking the fact that impeachment will also rally the DEM base. Plenty of progressives will protest vote third party or stay at home on 11/3/20 if Trump isn't impeached.

Also, an impeached POTUS has never run for reelection. I think a lot of the fear expressed itt is not founded on any sort of demonstrable evidence.

Touchee, but I would argue that the confidence expressed by the “impeach him yesterday” crowd is similarly lacking in evidentiary basis.
