No they weren't planned. Nothing really was. He pretty much said that thanks to himself, DPRK was no longer launching "rocketships" over Japan ... and when he congratulated Burr on him confirmation he said "enjoy your life" lol.

Is the court going to decide if this is an emergency or not? If so, then I agree with you. But I don't think that's their role. They will rule on whether or not he has the constitutional right to declare an emergency, which I think he does because of the NEA. It's not up to them to adjudicate the correctness of his decision. Unless I'm wrong the NEA gave the discretion to the president, complete with his/her whims and prejudices.

I like to take a step back now and then and wonder what would the GOP have done/said if Obama had acted as Trump has. This is pretty much the exact type of situation they were scared Obama would do, except with him it was declare an emergency and seize all their guns and institute sharia law. Their rights are genuinely being threatened by this clown and they are too fucking stupid to realize it.

Second question, did this go on for an hour? I heard that 'he has the real statics', and 'we have no idea the reality' or some such, but of course refuses to provide the basis for these statements.

When a reporter asked him about his stats, because the DHS stats are completely different, he just said he has his own "sources" and the DHS stats are completely wrong lol. Just making shit up on the spot as usual.

If it's true, he was just playing to Trump's enormous ego because he knew he would never win. Of all the possible moves, stroking Trump's ego is probably the best way to keep him from screwing you over.

It will be a fascinating case before the court with cross cutting pressures on both the conservative and liberal justices. My guess is it gets spiked by the liberals + Roberts and/or Gorsuch, but can make an argument that the court could wind up at 9-0 on either side of it.

I sort of half heard this story on NPR this morning when I was getting ready. I did not know it was in Montana.

In footage, CBP Agent Paul O'Neal is seen telling one of the women, "Ma'am, the reason I asked you for your ID is because I came in here and I saw that you guys are speaking Spanish, which is very unheard of up here."

I wonder what would have happened if they were tourists. Haul them in? Deport them? It would be pretty hard to prove they were not here legally. The Agent would likely become completely lost in the entry stamps, not that that would prove legal presence.

The women were born in California, and Texas, not that they carry proof of that either.
