Well, I thought this speech was good at first, but it went way too long, meandered, and , If you boiled it down to one thought here at the end, I think it would be this:

Building my border wall = The New Liberating Dachau

Which is a breathtakingly disgusting premise.

I don't know how you could think it was good? Maybe if you judged Trump on a curve for being able to read a teleprompter. For all the shit President Obama got he at least sounded elegant and intelligent. Trump was relatively listless except on the known applause lines or when he got to the racism since it's the only issue that motivates him and his base.

Stacey Abrams is so much better at this then President Trump and any other response video I've ever watched. I know it's a crowded field, but it seems like a GA Sen run is a step down for her talent and message.

Klobuchar is announcing Sunday.

God knows I'm not the target audience for the Dem primary, but she seems really smart and capable and normal and from the Midwest and while too progressive for me, not out of the mainstream and generally someone who can beat the everloving shit out of Trump.

I love Klobucher. Seems too nicey midwestern to emerge in a crowded field tho. She stood next to us waiting for her bag after a flight to Minneapolis once. Ppl mostly left her alone, which made me happy.

whelp, Elizabeth Warren is on a wooden ship at sea which is on fire again. The trip, trip, trip, trip campaign was already shown to be flawed with HRC. Can't do that again. There is a curious BBC America radio interview with a guy from Blaze about last night's State of the Union. He proclaimed it to be exactly what the base wanted. He said that Blaze hosted I watch party at a Trump Hotel where they cheered uproariously at every word, and booed every time they saw someone wearing white, especially Nancy Pelosi.

He basically said that it is a sham that this speech was Reaching Across the aisle. But intentionally so. Then he went on to deride Pelosi and the Democrats calling the women wearing white at cheap attempt at gender identity politics, Etc, and so on.

I found it just curious but he immediately dismissed the general premise of the speech as presented to bring Americans together.

This is not unexpected news but is welcome nonetheless. I really like Klobuchar, for all the reasons you mentioned. Unless something completely unforeseen happens, I would vote for her in a NY minute.

Here's the big question, JH, as you may be in the same position as many learned, thoughtful Rs. Assuming it is Trump vs. Klobuchar, do you actually vote D or do you just sit it out?
