I agree with this 100%. Much like my kids, AOC needs to learn that she does not need to have a comment about EVERYTHING. I know I am already tired of hearing about her.

A lot of this though has to do with the right wing obsession with her. I guess I'm a bad person because I do enjoy seeing her provoke them into spasms of outrage.

The latest thing--her conversation with Coates I thought she made some really solid, measured arguments about wealth distribution. She's refocusing the argument from individual merit to how the system produces certain outcomes, and even if merit has something to do with where you end up, it should not be the case that we have billionaires at the same time as we have children lacking basic health care.

If you're going to change the conversation, you've got to be in the conversation.

Maybe I’ve only checked out headlines, but wasn’t the zero fucks comment induced by Colbert? Like his question was literally how many fucks do you give? And she just said zero. She didn’t come out with a statement saying she gives zero fucks as far as I know.

i think there is a more nuanced answer she could have given--- i have my priorities for my district, i am unwilling to compromise on who i am as a person but know that to make progress there needs to be consensus building and other people to run alongside yada yada

TBF Laura Ingraham likely has a better sense of what is going on in the Oval.

As one of those right wing whackjobs who thinks the Covington teenagers got a pretty raw deal over the weekend, they will almost entirely lose my support if they go to the White House and allowed themselves to be used by this fraud of an administration. The smart play would be to just say that while we appreciate the invitation we'd prefer to just put the episode behind us and get back to school. Just my take.
