Officially closing a good number of local schools in South jersey Thursday. I'm sorry, but that is truly fucked up.

Right, I mean what kind of measure of commitment is that, when they just let you go?

Guy I coach with was Asst. Principal in charge of discipline at the HS in 2008. They held school, but he drove kids down to the parade. That MEANT something.

I heard about Bishop Eustace (Pennsauken) closing last night; the oldest has a friend who goes there, and I ran into her at a school event. One of the Eagles went there, and that was the reason she gave. But, these are moms talking, so it could just be because of the parade.

Oaklyn and Collingswood are definitely closed, with no other reason given than the parade. I can certainly see Philadelphia schools being closed, though more so because public transportation and emergency services will be otherwise occupied at the time. Haven't heard from Haddonfield schools yet. I know they were open during the Phillies parade and my kids (who are not sports fans of any stripe) attended. Not sure how much they got done, but i certainly would prefer whatever it was to squeezing in a makeup day later on.

I admit I'm one of the few grinches on the board, so its hard for me to relate that this would be something important to attend. I mean , I watched the game and rooted for the Eagles, but my level of interest in the game was somewhere between a new Star Wars movie and the opening of a new Italian place, I was just there because it was convenient and someone I knew was interested.

my kid's school (in radnor/villanova) just announced they're closed Thursday. Transportation is the key issue. They run a shuttle from the train station for a handful of kids, and may are bussed in by their home school district, and those buses won't be running if the districts shut down. And several families from the school said they're going to the parade, and there's only like 110 kids in the school to begin with.

So far I've learned that Abraham was a schizophrenic, pedo, adulterer, dead beat dad, and all around piece of garbage human being who somehow managed to spawn three major religions.
