Back when I was going through the whole getting into college process that begins in your junior year of HS with the PSATs, my idea was I'd take the PSAT, prepare for the SAT, take it in the spring of my Jr. year, get the score I wanted, and be done with the whole thing. Taking the test a second time was for people who had an episode of test anxiety or had some other reason they thought they could improve their scores enough that going through the whole horrible ordeal again was worth it.

I tried to explain this to my daughter. She said with exasperation, "Dad, we don't do it that way anymore." Why not? Apparently, kids today are told to take those standardized tests over and over again. I guess they're supposed to practice or something in between. But this seems like a good way to make the lives of 16 and 17 year old even more miserable than they already are.

Really, I'm just trying to help. Just starting working on the damn test, take in the spring, and get into the college of your choice.

Oh, no don't. Really. Loud happy teenagers are a lot better than sullen angry ones. You don't want to be that dad.

Call the police. Have the police take you to their house and identify them right there. Then, as the police are placing the kids in their squad cars, stop and yell, "April Fools!!!"

wait, wrong holiday. I really thought I was on to something there.

So many inappropriate jokes...ranging from "I generally use a sound proof room or at least a ball-gag" to "the video comes out better when they make noise".

Allergies? Skittles are generally allergy-friendly, while KitKats are not (at least for peanut allergy).

One little girl did say she couldn't have kitkat (gluten allergy) and took skittles.

We had a kid say that, too. I just told her that it was worth the pain. We don't give out crappy candy like skittles.
