Well for starters, at some point recently, the far left decided if they disagree with someone the answer is to riot, destroy property, attack and injure people and create anarchy. Mind you this is simply for disagreeing with a person's political views.

Something really bad is going to happen soon. You can see it coming.

You don't see the reaction of liberals as a mirror reflection of the tea party? There are quite a few similarities... Anger, protesting against divergent values, a few bad actors, and not a ton of understanding of their opponents.

I would disagree with at least some of this--I think many, if not most protestors on the left understand their opponents quite well.

You can look at the posts in this thread for broad generizations about the goals of the GOP, motivations of Trump supporters, etc that are far from accurate.

And I do really think the Republican party is in fact aiming to create something like a Russian kleptocracy here in the US. Party leaders and elected officials I think have mostly made the calculation that they stand to personally benefit if they succeed, and have decided to go along for the ride. The fact that as far as I know not a single Republican has called for Bannon's resignation or removal is all the evidence I need.

Corporatism has been en vogue for decades now on both sides. Personal enrichment is just the next step. I mean, we already allow congressmen to skirt insider trading laws. It's been absurd for a little while now.

To be sure, but I think we've reached a new level, and most of the blame belongs with one party and its enablers. I agree that Congress long ago abdicated its role as an actual legislative body, and it has long neglected its role in checks and balances for political gain. But now we have an executive branch that seems quite determined to establish a very different kind of government than our constitutional republic, and one party in the legislative branch seems quite happy to let it happen.

A few years ago, I assigned It's Worse than it Looks which was a sequel to The Broken Branch. The book claimed that most of the dysfunction in the legislative branch was due to the Republicans, and I did say at the time I thought the book was biased. I now see that I was wrong--indeed, it's even worse than the book described.

Did some of the portest in Philly today. It's cool to see people smiling and giving us a fist pump as the march goes by.

Donald trump is the president and Republicans are still acting like they're a responsible and serious political party

Pretty amazing how you can have that much anger for someone you don't even know. Weird actually.

drumpf continues his unhinged raving re: the stay on his immigration mess.

He's pathetic, but I'm not sure people grasp how motivated/desperate he/his mob may be to make 'fake news' happen around this

@RealDonaldTrump
What is our country coming to when a judge can halt a Homeland Security travel ban and anyone, even with bad intentions, can come into U.S.?
Yes, but in a double utley you can put your utley on top they other guy's utley, and you're the winner. (Swish)

Religion, not immigrants.

And disagreement / hate over religion has driven the world for years.

The whole thing is ridiculously simple. If he wants to make the country safer from terrorists, great, but he's got to do it within the bounds of the laws of the land and the Constitution. And it doesn't help when you say things like: "We're going to favor Christians." We've got this pesky little thing called the Anti-Establishment Clause.

And, btw, if you're going to use your political capital, it's pretty stupid to pick countries from which there have been no terrorists who've been involved in an attack on American soil.

Do it legally, do it right and do it smart. Really not to much to ask, Mr. President.

& it's less anger and more contempt & pity. I also look at you as kind of like a hamster. I'm 100% sincere when I say I think you're really stupid, but I don't have a ton of the stupid Trump fans in my life (I have the either the a-political or the vote GOP bc they're rich), and you seem to represent the baser, angry, cultish Trump voter so I'm trying to see why your brains act the way they do.
