Well for starters, at some point recently, the far left decided if they disagree with someone the answer is to riot, destroy property, attack and injure people and create anarchy. Mind you this is simply for disagreeing with a person's political views.

Something really bad is going to happen soon. You can see it coming.

Brantt, how pleased are you with the Trump admin so far? 1 being not pleased, 10 being you make up stories about your station in life to impress a bunch of strangers on the internet who think you're pretty daft.

99.9999% of the left has not reacted violently to this administration. They've become more politically involved, attended peaceful protests, expressed their dismay in their social circles, etc., but when you're a simpleton that has never had an original thought, and gets his talking points from the abhorrent by really any standard, Ann Coulter, you might think this is representative of a larger movement in the left.

Admittedly, I think it's funny that Spencer got punched, and Gavin got maced, but the antifa/anarchist movement is a seriously small fraction of the left's resistance. this idea that it's new is also really stupid. the Bay has like a 60 year history of violent anarchists infiltrating lefts protests to push their own, somewhat Steven Bannon like ideology.

Brantt, you need to read like some James Baldwin or Alice Munro. You're seriously one of the dumbest people on Philly sports message boards. I don't read the Penn State thread bc who cares about dumb school, but everything you say elsewhere is just a regurgitated cliche. I'm not trying to insult you by saying that, you're just a toad. You can get less ignorant with a little self reflection and a little desire to be a better person.

Going to NYC this week. There are a lot of protest against Trump options. I'm really considering going to the "sing along" on Sunday at Washington Square and the march to Trump Tower on Tuesday evening.

I'm just hoping Brantt breaks his cycle of reading something horrible Ann Coulter says, then posting a less coherent version of it here, then dipping out for a week when it's proved inaccurate or stupid. Rinse, repeat, seemingly forever.

"Something really bad is going to happen soon." Like, perhaps, one of your ideological clones going into a peaceful prayer session and murdering a bunch of Muslims? Is that why we should arm up, so more of you're cohorts can murder the innocent? Why do you care more about a Starbucks window and a Nazi's jaw than a bunch of people's lives?

Crime is at almost all-time lows but we had a candidate and now president fear mongering and creating division and preying on hatred. Some anarchists at Berkley are and reaction, not a cause.

In any event, let's stay cool on the board.

I will say that I do agree that it's dishonest to propogate something known to be false, get rebutted on it, then never respond but a week or two later reiterate it. This is a disinformation campaign we are going through right now and it's unsettling.

Donald Trump not in Situation Room for 'botched' Yemen raid that killed up to 30 civilians and one US Navy SEAL

Yet when Donald Trump ordered his first military operation as US President, a Navy Seal strike on a suspected Al-Qaeda camp in Yemen’s Bayda province that resulted in the deaths of one member of the US special forces team and up to 30 Yemeni civilians, among them an eight-year-old girl, that is not quite how things played out.

Amid claims that Mr Trump ordered the operation in the early hours of Sunday morning without sufficient intelligence, ground support or back-up, it has emerged that the President was not in the Situation Room at all.

Another troubling thing I haven't seen discussed much, when your top national security guy is an aggressive alcoholic, how can you rely on him to be prepared to respond to national crises?

Regardless of the actual number, the trendlines on Trump's approval went down this week on all polls, even the weird Rasmussen poll. (How on earth do you likely voter screen when the next national election is almost 2 years away?) The Quinnipiac poll which showed approval at 36% is certainly an outlier, but most polls are showing something close to a 8% net negative. When this is combined with an even worse favorable/unfavorable gap, and a very active and visible opposition, the idea that somehow people on the coasts don't get it seem quite off base. And, though it may be an easy victory, the turn around on selling a bunch of public land in Utah and the news that many Rs are unhappy with the pushback their treason is engendering is a sign that the resistance is working.

To be sure, it would've been nice to have this intensity and energy 4 months ago. But I think I disagree with LG that the effect of all this will be to exhaust the left. I think in fact the opposite may be happening--the resistance (and I think I like that term as an umbrella term for all that's going on) may in fact be snowballing.

And I do really think the Republican party is in fact aiming to create something like a Russian kleptocracy here in the US. Party leaders and elected officials I think have mostly made the calculation that they stand to personally benefit if they succeed, and have decided to go along for the ride. The fact that as far as I know not a single Republican has called for Bannon's resignation or removal is all the evidence I need.

You don't see the reaction of liberals as a mirror reflection of the tea party? There are quite a few similarities... Anger, protesting against divergent values, a few bad actors, and not a ton of understanding of their opponents.

I would disagree with at least some of this--I think many, if not most protestors on the left understand their opponents quite well.

Corporatism has been en vogue for decades now on both sides. Personal enrichment is just the next step. I mean, we already allow congressmen to skirt insider trading laws. It's been absurd for a little while now.
