Maybe it is a nuance where the GOP is the party of Xenophobic, Homophobic, Racist, Sexist old white men who want government to stay out of telling business what to do, who (mis)remember the 'Good Old Days of Regan' but feel the need to be intimately involved in the legislation of individuals rights.
