Got invited to a "VIP Tasting" event for Kono Pizza at FDR Park last night.

Pizza in a cone.

The cone crust was crispy and chewy and suprisingly good. The cheese, sauce, and other stuff was a bit tame.

Not life changing, but perfect for stadium food. I expect these or imitations to replace all the slices sold in stadiums and arenas.

Which I've always hated for the reason Grote points out.

you're getting the same crust/topping ratio but just ingesting it at an accelerated clip. count me in.

there is definitely something with the way the taste bud receptors in your mouth are aligned and the orientation of the food, though. Makes it taste a little different.

Yeah, I feel like you don't get as much of the cheese flavor by folding.

With folding it's at least like a 50/50 ratio. That thing looks like more bread than filling to me but maybe that's not the case

but in any event I don't see the point - I get the Lorenzo's surfboards at the Sixers and they're easy to eat after a bite or two

p.s. full disclosure I'm also a big garlic salt, red pepper flake, and sometimes buffalo/hot sauce guy, and I want to taste that in every bite

no!

With the somewhat lackluster opinion regarding the innovative pizza cone today, I feel that this would be the opportune time to introduce yet another game changer in the culinary industry...

This is taking pizza to the next level much like the enormous success that Burger King had with whopperito. It's great that these fine establishments look to the future and bring their chef worthy fusion inspired delights to the American public.

That kind of thinking is why you are posting on some Internet board at 10:22 AM, while Arby's is number 16 in the United States in fast casual dining.

That was in response to slowhand.

Now you cballs, that's some progressive thinking. I like that. You might want to pitch that idea out there to a competitor.

Didn't expect this to be so controversial.

I endorse the pizza crimp but the fold - as noted - is just flat wrong.

These things will expand beyond pizza. The franchise owners are thinking gyros, cheesesteaks, and other fillings. They already have nutella and other dessert varieties.

It's never gonna be great, but it's already better than Pizza Hut.

The one pictured is a mini-cone that is normally for the dessert cones. The full size sells for $7 a pop.

By pizza fold I obviously meant crimp. Not making a dang crease in the thing.
