pizza is a rare eat for me, so when i do go for it, it's special. This is a nice list and there's a couple I want to try from. I've always been partial to Beddia since my friend works there and it's top shelf stuff. I'm gonna stretch this pizza craving out to this weekend, can't wait

Got tips on how to get a Beddia pie without a long wait? Are there tables and soft drinks?

i got no tips for you, you just gotta get there before they open, sometimes over an hour before. There are 2 or 3 tables inside and you can buy some soda as well. I respect the hell out of their operation. Also, the owner is going to Japan for the next 2 weeks so they'll be closed until early March, so get your pizza before this Saturday if you have a craving.

their website is also boss, very short and sweet. OG stuff

Terrific stuff at Urban Vetri KoP.
Expensive; $4 - $8 per slice.

I never look at Yelp - just a bunch of uninformed kids. TripAdvisor is better.

If you like Vetri al taglio, you should get to Rize in Broomall. Similar approach, as good or better pie, lower prices, husband and wife team making the pies.

Mostly Neapolitan, but each day there is one kind of al taglio.

EDIT: There used to be one al taglio each day, but I don't see it on the current web menu

Under the hood, you can see just how airy that Vetri crust it.

Amazing stuff, but Norma's in Mannheim and Rize in Broomall are just as good

Old Forge pizza is worth the trip (near Scranton). Some places like the acclaimed Revello's use a pre-made shell, but rival Arcaro & Genell is a real step up. The true magic happens at Elio G's, the take-out only place where pies are made by the grandson of Nonna Ghigiarelli, the woman who invented Old Forge style in the 1920s to feed poker players in her husband's bar.

The red pies look sickly due to the ghost white processed cheese on them, but it somehow all comes together.

set a notification for his posts. so when he posts a menu and time/place where he will be serving you can reserve a pie. they go quick. he only cooks like 20 a night.

I gotta go back to NEPA. Had a nice fried cut at Pizza Perfect in Shavertown, I understand Victory Pig and Pizza Loven are similar.

Colarusso's is on my radar as well as Senape's and other spots in Hazelton.

I wonder how it would work if you used a cast iron frying pan.

Tried it out on my recent trip to Philly. Came in 30 minutes before close and ordered take out, walked a block to my hotel. It was still pretty damn good, on par with the top neopolitans I've had anywhere in the US.

finally made it to rize at the behest of one thomas pie. having grown up in broomall, i was skeptical there could actually be something good in lawrence park but was pleasantly surprised. we got their version of a margherita pie which was packed full of flavor. tomatoes were a little vinegary and it had an awesome basil pesto. loved the sesame seeds in the crust too.
