Went to Square Pie tonight per JTKs recommendation. Really, really good. Some of the best pizza I have ever had. Crust was so yummy. Toppings were solid. Sauce was great. Can't wait to go back.

Finally got there. This place is so good it deserves mention here and in the restaurant thread.

Pizza was outstanding. On par with Vetri and Capofitto for that Neapolitan style. No soggy spots! But the pizza was not really the highlight because everything was so good. My best meal out in a long time. We got the Vicenzo, topped w Mortadella.

Holy cow, that cauliflower appetizer is the best $7 I ever spent.

went to pizzeria bianco and it was good, but not incredible like all these lists always say.

much prefer square pie or a handful of other places in this city.

pizza is a rare eat for me, so when i do go for it, it's special. This is a nice list and there's a couple I want to try from. I've always been partial to Beddia since my friend works there and it's top shelf stuff. I'm gonna stretch this pizza craving out to this weekend, can't wait

when the pizza in the city is put together like this you can appreciate how much great pizza is around. a little too many places that make neopolitans. but its a really good list of places.

of what i've had?:

Square Pie for thicker/brooklyn/sicilian. The pizza isn't the absolute best but everything combined with ambiance/sides/pastas and BYOB and its easily my favorite place in the city.
Genarros for a standard slice. Not exactly really thin, but extremely crispy without being burnt. Love when you can grab a slice of pizza and it doesn't flop over.
Vetri Square Pie in KOP. its outside the city limits, but its the best Roma style slice i've had since actually being in Rome. Would be better than most of what i've had in Rome, as well. Extremely light and airy dough with incredible toppings. The only thing missing from the place is buying it by the ounce.
Neopolitan pizza all runs together for me. Can go to 20 places in the city and get something that resembles another place(Vetri, Capofitto, Nomad, Brigantessa, etc). Not that they're bad(they're really good), its just indistinguishable from the rest.

I wasn't that impressed with the square pie at Vetri in KoP but I think that's because it was like 7:30 on a Thursday and the pizza was probably out for hours. It felt old and tough.

if it felt tough then it was most likely sitting out for a while. i got some of the fresh stuff when i went and it was near perfection.

side note: the guy who is running Vetri Square Pie used to own a bakery in Wilmington. We'd go and get the focaccia breads for lunch all the time. So it was nice to find out that in between closing his bakery and opening up a new one he was keeping busy. Vetri definitely got the right person for the job. His focaccia breads were similar to the pizza.

i will have to try Square Pie for the experience, Vetri for the intrgue . And I guess now that I think about it, my preferred pizza is thin and crispy. That style has a great bite and perhaps makes quantity consumption easier too
