Went to Liberty Union Grill in Chester Springs for the "Baked Colorado" pizza featuring elk sausage and hemp seeds.

Yeah, a novelty pie for sure, but it was really good. The elk was chewy and spicy, the crust was thin, crispy, chewy, almost flaky. Unique. Overall really flavorful white pie. The hemp seeds were just hippie decoration.

Nice craft beer selection, I had some brown Kona sumpin from Hawaii with great flavor, toffee overtones, and smooth full body for $6 a pint.

This was on the wall in the bathroom:

Do people really refer to it as 'za?

I don't think I like those people, if they exist.

No, I have business there. But wherever I go, I scout out the pie.

It was excellent. ZaZa. Neapolitan stuff, build-your-own assembly line style.

That pizza looks mediocre at best.

It looks like a "tray" of Old Forge pizza.

I keep hearing its praises, but I've never had it.

And yeah, it looks turrbull. Fluffy white bread dough with undercooked ghost cheese on it.

But I can't fully slam it until I have tried it.

I have a friend who is making a hybrid Old Forge/Detroit pizza and it is otherworldly. He may someday open a pizza joint around Downingtown.

Basic is making a New Haven style pie in San Diego that is every bit as good - maybe better - as the classic stuff at Sally's.

This white pie had mashed potatoes, garlic, and bacon.

I get it at a place in my wife's hometown of Clarks Summit, and I like it a lot. Something about it makes you want to keep eating it even after you're full.

Pretty spectacular stuff at Rize Pizza in Broomall.

Pan-baked squares where the dough "rizes" for a long time. Crispy chewy airy. I liked the weird slices better than the conventional ones.

Somebody called it "al taglio" but it's not Roman style.

Seeing this a little late, but next time you're in Little Rock, try Vino's. Beer is probably a bit better than the pizza though.

Hit this tonight based on the rec and it was awesome. I had a slice of the day, with pepperoni, carmalized onions, yellow peppers and mushrooms, and a slice of their Ivory, which is a white pizza with fontina, mozz, asiago, truffle oil and roasted garlic. Both great. My kids got their thinner traditional ones and it was very good. My kids love the frozen yogurt place next door so this place will be on our rotation.

went to Prince St pizza today. pretty great slice of sicilian with pepperoni. bottom was very crispy. the center had the typical sicilian doughy texture that we all love in sicilian pizza. sauce had this nice sweetness to it that tasted like it had some wine in it. the pepperoni was perfect and extremely crispy. reminded me of gennaros pepperoni's. small in diameter with the curled edges.
