Here's an ideal scenario I just made up, under the circumstances:

Phillies trade Lee and Victorino (Mariners) and D'Arnaud, Brown, Happ (Blue Jays)

Phillies get Halladay, Morrow
Phillies sign Pedro.

In June:

Phillies trade Drabek, Morrow, other guy for Josh Johnson.

That would be good. As long as we are making things up.

When Jamie Moyer retires on Thursday, two days after we dump Lee's salary to make room for a Halladay acquisition.

I'll literally punch babies at my kid's daycare. I'll even go back at lunch time for a second round, and then stop by to do it again after work even though I don't have to pick up my kid. I'll literally--LITERALLY--go there just to punch babies.

Lee for Aumont is hilariously bad.

Toronto beat writer in 'Phils get raped' deal shocker. I wouldn't put credence in a single deal being thrown out right now, I don't care if the Toronto and Mariner FO's announce that we're giving up utley, Howard and Werth for Wells, its all crap until the official announcement.

BA had Aumont #3 and Gilles #20 in Seattle's system last year.

Last year Goldstien had Aumont as a 4 star (#2 in Seattle's system)

The Good: Aumont's best pitch is a low-90s sinker that touches 95 and has explosive late life, with one scout calling it a major league-ready offering right now. He'll flash a decent slider at times, is aggressive in the strike zone, and he brings a lot of intensity to the mound.
The Bad: Aumount's elbow problems are a concern, as he does tend to throw across his body. While the slider is effective, it also flattens out far too often, and with a below-average changeup, some think that he'd be put to better use in the bullpen. He needs to get in more innings; he pitched less than 60 last year. He also needs to harness his emotions, as his tendency to stare down umpires and slam his glove whenever he was being pulled from a game did him no favors at Low-A.

So the good would be locking up Halladay for 3-60. I mean no doubt that is unbelievable awesome. Just the whole, overpaying for Halladay's right and then panic selling on Lee are tougher to take

It's called sarcasm. I have nothing against the hearing impaired. He's just not a very good prospect - a heartwarming story perhaps, but a marginal prospect.

I don't mind that deal that Elliott is talking about as long as Ramirez is in it. Gillies and Aumont for Lee is questionable. Adding in Ramirez makes it passable. Taking out Gillies and adding Saunders makes it slightly too good for us. Let's see which scenario plays out. I can't believe we're about to trade Cliff Lee for Phillippe Aumont and Tyson Gillies though.

Don't really get the Ramirez love, he had a 5+ FIP and mediocre K rate in high A last year
