So Gillick stocked up the system, and Rube emptied it in 6 months.

But there is one thing holding him back from reaching his ceiling of a solid everyday outfielder: his power.

Gillies' minor league OPS is .886. Bonifacio's was .703.

I would have to think that this trade would drop us into the bottom half of farm systems.

I'm going to go to bed, because nothing is happening and this stuff is just making me angry.

My one fear on why this all could be true is Ruben might be outthinking himself. If he knows he has to move about nine million dollars eventually, he wants to trade Lee when no one knows he has to be moved to get "top dollar" for him. But "top dollar" is seemingly not all that spectacular.

And there are other players (obviously Blanton jumps out) who are less valuable to the team than Lee and make something in the same ballpark as he does.

If we were really that hard up for cash, we wouldn't have tendered Durbin a contract. I hope.

Well, the ultimate source of the Lee for Aumont and Gillies rumor is Jason Stark, right? Is there anyone substantiating (not simply citing)?

Per Beerleaguer, some BS Twitter account indicating Lee is trying to block the deal, so add that to the greatest neverending plot ever.

Cliff Lee to block trade. Refuses to be in the same rotation as Felix Hernandez.
