and do we even have anyone to play 3B?
Kingery 3B, Haseley/Quinn CF?
Guess I was working under the assumption we trade Segura.

Sign - There are lots of intriguing guys to consider for the back of the rotation. Let Price pick his reclamation project off the scrap heap. Gausman, Walker, Pineda, Nelson, Sanchez, etc.

No one is saying that. What we are saying is if we sign Didi and aren't spending money how does the infield shape out.

If you're going to do this, why not just let him try to work with Pivetta?

And that's how you win 81 games.

Maybe. I'm just thinking that this team WONT go over the cap. So I'd rather spend the money on more pitching than another infielder to replace a really cheap guy who had a .900 OPS for us in nearly 70 games and who won't block our top prospect who is likely to be playing on the major league team in July.

Why not do both, provided you can get someone on that list on the cheap? Girardi has been quoted a few times about needing "six, seven, eight" starters due to injuries and unforeseen circumstances. Get a reclamation or two, let Price work with Pivetta/VV (assuming they're not moved somewhere first), and then see how the depth shakes out.
