Not sued BY bodog.

Long story short-

Bodog pays Jamie the buyin if he can get X amount of celebs to wear bodog clothing during the event. Jamie enlists help of casual acquaintence, tells him bodgog will pay his entry as well. Casual acquaintence gets a few people and bodog doesnt have any more entries to give so Jamie promises him that if he gets into the money they will split the winnings. Jamie wins main event and casual acquaintence either gets impatient with Jamie's slow response or Jamie completely ignores the guy as is stiffing him- law suit gets filed and eventually gets settled.

I'm pretty sure that rule is designed to prevent collusion and cheating and I think its a good one (although it doesn't make much sense why you can still lie about it). It's not fair to other players when you explicitly collude like Gold did in the main event. I'm sure in major tournaments it happens quite often with pros who have pieces of each other, but at least they make it implicit and don't talk about it. If you are allowed to announce your hand, it makes it MUCH easier to chip dump or collude with a partner.

the structure up to this point is essentially identical to what it was last year. they removed like 1 level, but i don't think the players will reach that level for quite a while.

my guess is that the increased awareness of concepts like stealing and restealing is what is leading to a faster pace of bustouts than in past years when many players were just rock tight nits. honestly, this is pretty much exactly what was experienced last year during these stages of the tournament. you can expect play to tighten up a lot once the players approach the money bubble tomorrow and then as they reach any significant payout increase bubble.

Lousy night and eliminated early in both games I played:

Game 1
Blinds at 50/100, Guy to my left raises to 400 preflop and I'm BB. Everybody else folds and I go all in 1700 with KK. He calls me with A5o. He ends up winning with a straight.

Game 2
First hand I have A5 and hit the flush on the flop of J62. Player 1 raises to 150, Player 2 calls, and I call knowing I'm set. Turn is a 8 and Player 1 goes all in. Player 2 folds and I call. Player one has two pair with 62. 2 comes on the last card and he has a full house. I lose with the Ace Flush.

Not complaining as that's how poker goes sometimes but I don't think I'll be playing anymore tonight :(

Rick Tocchet Pulls a Vinnie Vinh
Yes, it's unfortunate that Vinh's condition has become a catchphrase, but I think it's one that is here to stay. While Vinnie Vinh himself showed up today (but busted early with a short stack), Rick Tocchet never returned for his Day Two. He survived Day 1c with 17,100 in chips, and his stack made it to the second level without him before succumbing to the blinds. Why didn't Tocchet ever return to play? There's a theory that he was getting too much pressure for his legal troubles with gambling and conspiracy charges. While it's completely legal for him (or anyone over the age of 21) to play in the World Series of Poker, it may have been bad for him in other ways. Regardless of the reason, Tocchet never returned on Day 2b, and his chips are now gone.

Days 2A and 2B at the WSOP are done. Today will be the first day the entire remaining field plays as 1, as they will do for the rest of the tournament.

Approximately 810 players remain and I believe the top ~620 or so will be in the money, so with action starting at 3 PM EST so I'd expect the money bubble to burst around 7 PM EST today, after which time there will be a very quick rash of bustouts, and today's play will conclude with somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-300 players remaining.

Lots of big name pros and celebs were eliminated on Day 2, but a fair number still remain. Some pros/celebs to follow still:

Gus Hansen @ 530,000
Huck Seed @ 280,500
Tedd Forrest @ 268,200
Carlos Mortensen @ 254,700
Daniel Alaei @ 205,800
Chip Jett @ 201,400
Robert Varkonyi @ 182,700
Jason Lester @ 166,300
Chris Ferguson @ 160,900
Tobey Maguire @ 152,900
John Spadavecchia @ 151,500
Pamela Brunson @ 125,000
Scotty Nguyen @ 107,200
Humberto Brenes @ 94,700
Todd Brunson @ 90,600
Gavin Smith @ 87,700

Some internet guys you should also follow:
Rain Khan @ 580k
Sorel Mizzi @ 410k
Carl Olson @ 400k
George Dunst @ 292k
Darrell Dicken @ 250k

I'll add others when I can find some reliable chip counts somewhere.

I think it's just about time for a Jesus Ferguson Main Event Final Table, and once he makes it there, it's going to be hard for him to lose..... My money is on Chris....

Gus Hansen with alot of chips is a dangerous thing, still too early to say, but he's definitely a force to get there.
