World Series 2008 Games 5.1 & 5.2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Postby CalvinBall » Tue Oct 28, 2008 01:18:41

I posted my experience from the game already but I can't get over the fact how hard fans are getting screwed.

What if you lost your ticket? Threw it out?
What if you drove 5 hours? Flew here? And you can't stick around?

Will the stadium be full? If people don't show up can you get in without a ticket?

Sorry for not coming over. I stood in the McFadden's line for three hours.

Just got home, haven't read the whole thread -- or any other commentary for that matter -- but how many days does it have to be delayed before you try this scenario to open the bottom of the sixth:

Hamels hits for himself and stays in the game
Then Rollins bats
Then Werth bats

Hell, if it is delayed for two days, wouldn't that be Cole's normal day to throw on the side?

Some dude tried to climb the fence to get in to McFadden's court yard. Once he landed he ran and a security guy chased him through the crowd. The security guard caught up with him and destroyed him. Tackled him from behind and drove his head in the the ground. Reminded me of Sheldon's hit on Reggie Bush.

The gaurds then drug him out the gate basically choking him with their forearms the entire way out. It was awesome.

The Phillies probably should force MLB into awarding them an All Star Game over this fiasco.

Or even better, sign 5 first round quality players for way over slot in the 18th round or whatever.

The Rays tied the game. That's the real, unspoken reason.

Fellating of the Rays has restarted on ESPN

Even Kruk has turned on them, "Phils reverted to hoe\w they played beofre game 4"

BabyVox is trying to post while I type

winning 66.7% of their games? good enough for me.

question: will there be a new game thread tonight, or will this one keep going? i can't wait to watch the shortest baseball game in World Series history tonight.

sub-question: if every game was three innings, how many games would the Phillies have won this year? 120?
no offense but you are everything that's wrong with America

we can get whatever matchup we want with the PH without having to worry about burning anyone since whatever pitcher they put in will have to pitch to at least one batter, right.

another question, is there any chance charlie would have hit for cole here anyway? i'm guessing no but it wouldn't have been a terrible move.

I hate Conlin etc etc but at least I'm seeing this somewhere in print:

And why did a crew of umpires that has performed at a rookie-league level throughout the Series wait until the Rays tied it, 2-2, in the top of the sixth to order the ground crew to cover the partially submerged infield?
