Nice one, floppy. Anytime I feel myself cooling off, a little gem like this brings me back up to the boil.

It is kinda shitty that they're this close to reclaiming home-field advantage.

Another thing that angered me...

The Phillies printed the full season ticket holder tickets on special card stock. They couldn't print an extra couple thousand for the partial season ticket holders??

When's the parade?

Vegas: Phils win Game 5

Also of note from linked story: Phils will be favored to win the conclusion of Game 5.

Folks on the radio said they'll be a decision by 2pm

Much as I'd like to see the Phils win it tonight, the wise decision would be to wait until tomorrow night when it seems there's no chance of precipitation. And, frankly, it benefits the Phils because it allows for at least the possibility Hamels could pitch a Game 7 on Friday, if necessary.

With the foregoing in mind, I'm sure Selig will decide to go tonight!

Here's a thought on the whole thing, if Maddon brings in Price in the 6th, he'll be due to hit 4th in the top of the 7th. Maddon might try and avoid that by getting through the 6th without Price, or I guess he could double switch, but I don't think he'd want to double switch out any of the guys in the top five of his order.

Now we're in game-talk mode. I like it.

So it now looks like either:

Balfour vs. PH, Jimmy, Wertz ... or
LHP (not Price) vs. PH, Jimmy, Wertz. And they probably don't take him out against JR or Wertz, because Jimmy's been better hitting lefty and Utley and Howard are coming up.

I've changed my mind. They're going to play tonight, around 10:00, after they've cleaned up the field, and it will take about an hour and half to play the last 3 1/2 innings. At the end, much rejoicing throughout the night. There's my optimism post for this.

Why would you ever throw out your ticket stub from a potential game clincher??

People are bound to have lost them.

I had to take my friend's ticket and dry it out on the counter last night with a hair dryer, it was really wet and it's a damn good thing it wasn't ruined.
